Your Baby’s Firsts

From Birth: Grasping

From Birth: Grasping

Babies are born with an involuntary grasping reflex. Try it — put your finger in his hand and he’ll curl his tiny fingers around yours. He’ll start intentionally reaching out and trying to grab things at around three months old. You can encourage this skill by placing a soft toy in front of him, just a little bit out of his reach.
