6-8 Weeks: Eye Contact

Your baby starts out with eyes only for you. From birth she can only focus on objects about a foot away, just about the distance your face is from hers when you hold her. At 6 to 8 weeks, she’ll be holding your gaze — human faces are the most interesting sight to her, after all — and tracking objects with her eyes.
