Cause: Poison oak is an allergic reaction to the sap
produced by the plant. Poison oak is spread when there is contact with the sap,
which may be on the leaves of the plant, animals or any other object that may
have brushed the plant.
Where: Blisters, burning skin and swelling may appear
anywhere there has been contact with the toxins in the sap produced by the
plant.
