Drug Interactions
Your doctor or pharmacist may already be aware of any possible drug interactions and may be monitoring you for them. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first. This drug should not be used with the following medications because very serious interactions may occur: live influenza virus vaccine, pramlintide. If you are currently using any of these medications listed above, tell your doctor or pharmacist before starting this combination product. Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially of: anabolic steroids (e.g., danazol, oxandrolone), anticholinergic drugs (e.g., glycopyrrolate, scopolamine), other antispasmodics (e.g., clidinium, dicyclomine), anti-diarrhea drugs that may reduce absorption of this medication (e.g., attapulgite, kaolin), "blood thinners" (e.g., heparin, warfarin), drugs that make the urine less acidic (e.g., acetazolamide, antacids, hydrochlorothiazide, potassium citrate), ketoconazole, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, isocarboxazid, linezolid, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, rasagiline, selegiline, tranylcypromine), methotrexate, potassium tablets/capsules, valproic acid. Check all prescription and nonprescription medicine labels carefully since many contain aspirin or aspirin-related drugs. Low-dose aspirin should be continued if prescribed by your doctor for specific medical reasons such as heart attack or stroke prevention (usually at dosages of 81-325 milligrams per day). Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more details. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you also take drugs that cause drowsiness such as: certain antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine, meclizine), anti-seizure drugs (e.g., carbamazepine), medicine for sleep or anxiety (e.g., alprazolam, diazepam, zolpidem), muscle relaxants, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines (e.g., chlorpromazine, haloperidol, amitriptyline, risperidone).
