Accutane or Sinus Infection (Pressure build up in the brain?)

by jj123jj, Jun 08, 2007 12:00AM
Dr.,

First off, thank you for your time.

This is my 4th Day on Accutane. I feel pressure in mainly my left maxillary sinus (under my eye) that seems to be the source of my slight headaches. I have taken a decongestant (Zyrtec D 12H) with minimal results. I have not tried tylanol yet.

I figured it may be one of two things:
A harmless adjusment period lasting a week or so?
or Reoccuring sinus problems I have been experiencing before taking accutane (from a persistent viral infection).

Also, since the headaches and sinus problem began I have experienced slight trouble sleeping as a result of this headache/sinus irritation.

I am concerned whether this indicates some sort of pressure build up in the brain or some other severe condition.

I would really appreciate your input. Thank you very much for your time.

Most side effects wear off as your body gets used to accutane. Read and keep the instructions. It tells you which side effects are common and which you should contact a doctor about. Some patients do experience headaches. Do not take tetracyclines concurrently as this can lead to pressure in the brain. Loiloi x
