Accutane Considering second treatment

by neosparke, Feb 10, 2007 12:00AM
Hello i am a 27 and finished a course of accutane 11 months ago i have began hving flare up again but i admit not as severe or cystic as they where pre accutane. I have been given isotrex which i have used for 2 months now but i still flare up and i do not really think its as effective for me as accutane. I had no bad side effects bar the usual dry elbows and lips and coud even wear my contact lenses during therapy.
My bloods never changed at all during therapy so much so they stopped testing them. I feel one more round of the drug that changed my life will kick out this demon for good.
I can buy a generic version of this from an online pharmacy for £60 for 100 20mg tablets and am considering doing this as i have been on the therapy before it is a brand name drug isotroin-20 generic made by cipla. My question is i weigh around 75kg planning to take 40mg a day how long would i need to take this to achieve my maximum dose.
In your opinion would one more course really do me any harm given my previous experience.

Hi,
i would recommend posting this to Dr. Rockoff on the Dermatology forum. It is very specific and getting the right answer is very important so getting his opinion would be best.
Good luck
