I think I have ALL skin problems. :(

Hi guys,

Firstly, I'm a guy, and I'm beginning to get really self-concious about my skin.  It seems like no matter what I do, it just gets worse, and worse.  Or, I have to put up with one factor to take care of another.  I'm really at the end of my rope, and hoping someone here can suggest something.  Sadly, looks are really important to me, and it's probably meaning WAY too much to me, but I can't help it.

Here's the issue(s).  I have acne.  I have dry skin.  I have oily skin.  When I first get out the shower, dry skin kicks in (flaky, rough feeling, visible),  Throughout the day, oily skin starts, basically where I have dry skin.  And, not to get too nasty, but when I say dry and oily skin, I mean dry and oily.  Through the day, when I rub my face to literally get the oil off, it's like thick.  I hate it so much.  Anyway, needless to say, the more I rub my face, the more it gets flaky.

When I get out of the shower, to cover up the dry skin, I use St. Ives Collagen Elastin Moisturizer so my dry skin isn't visible, and I can rub the oily skin off throughout the day...

I'm also on doxycycline(?) for the acne...

Usually, it doesn't bother me as much as it does today, I guess I'm just having a bad day, and tired of it.  I really need suggestions on exact products I can buy at wal-mart and the such...  I dunno - I guess I'm just begging for help, anything! :(

Thanks - Dustin.

Hey,

I have same issues. Proactive seems to keep my skin not oily or dry. Plus, my acne is under control.

I also had to cut out sodas and change my diet around as well. Drinking sodas and eating too much sweets or fast food made my skin feel oily and I would have worst break outs. I know most derm will say food does not cause acne. Which I believe is true. However, I believe some food causes certain reaction in the body that caused my acne to be worst.

I'm not a big product endorsement person. But, I have tried everything since I was 13 yrs old (now 37). Proactive works for me and it does not dry out my skin.

Good luck!

i also faced a lot of acne problems in the recent years. one of my friends recommended clinique anti bacterial soap for it.

i had pimples which would occur on my face and chest and they later they converted into blackheads and whiteheads. either i had to pluck them out or they would be full of pus. since i started using the soap and few months back, i have noticed a change in my skin.... i ope it works for you as well...

apart from that.. there is a medicine called retin -a which is good for pimples however, it has some conditions. so befoer buying the drug, read about it in detail as it may harm you..

you can get details on retin - a at

what really helps my skin and my stress levels (which bring on pimples) is having a good facial steam.

You can buy a cheap facial steam machine for liek £10) (around$20) from your local supermarket. Then buy tea tree oil or rosemary and add it to the steamer with water. use about 5 drops in the allocated cylinder.

IT REALLY helps

dont do it too often though, as it draw out all the gunk without overdrying the skin

although it does tighten it and dry it a little

BEST OF LUCK
xx
