Question about Facial Irritation

by star1569, Apr 13, 2007 12:00AM
I have had light acne since beginning puberty. I had it under control and was virtually acne free throughtout the early part of last year and last summer. At that time I was using the Neutrogena Cleansing Bar and Oxy (10%BP) and all of that didn't affect my face in the way of irritation. Then at the start of this current school year my ance flared up so I changed treaments many times over the next months(including Proactiv and Murad) and while they did eventually get rid of the acne I now can't get rid of the irritation. Something is making my skin red and it stays that way all the time. I've tried various mild cleansers and treatments for sensitive skin but nothing will return me to my oringinal skin tone. I'm currently back on the same system I had to begin with but no signs of improvement yet. If someone has any information that might help, please share.

It may be the start of rosacea.I am not a doc so I encourage you to see a dermatologist. In the meantime continue with  gentle cleansing and use sunscreen as to not aggravate the redness by sun exposure.
Good luck and let me know how it goes for you.
