when it first came on the market. My doctor prescribed it for
migraine headaches. I was told that it was non-addictive and
would be very helpful for my situation. I was given prescriptions for 10 years and I took 6 a day for 10 years. Of course I got high, but I wouldn't admit it. The doctor died and I saw a new doctor who said I would have to stop taking darvon.
I said okay, but three days later I was a nervous wreck -- pouring coffee onto the table instead of the cup, etc. I called the doctor and he told me to come right into his office. He said he would help to wean me off the darvon. I started with 4 a day for 10 days, 3 a day for 10 days, 2 for 10 days, 1 for 10 days and then one every other day for a week and then none. PLEASE, be very careful taking Darvon. I have had several slip-ups over the years and have gone back to it, but AA or NA have helped me
get back on track. I am 65 years old now, and started taking
Darvon 42 years ago, and I still crave it, even though I am not
taking it now when I could really use it for back pain. It is
not a harmless drug, believe me. I hope I have put the fear of God into you, as I wish someone had done that for me. Good luck.
does anyone know how long this gross withdrawl will go on? things seem to get worse with each passing day not better. i used subutex to get off vicodin. i did not know or was told that subutex and its cousin are opiates. no laughing matter ! i notice people discuss their withdrawls but do not tell how long it will go on. subutex=opiate. jr
