Please do this: Educate yourself and your girlfriend by reading on this forum a lot. A lot. Ask more questions as they come up. There is so much you and your girlfriend need to know.
Frankly, she is in a terrible place, and a lot of suffering, determination, and support is, and will be, in the future to get her completely off methadone.
You both should learn, make decisions, formulate a plan, including aftercare, and execute the plan. Sounds easy, but it is not. The first step is knowledge. That, knowledge, is my best advice.
Sorry no-one has replied to your post yet, but believe me, thare are many. many wonderful people on here who care and will help.

Anyway, she will go thru hell if she tries to go cold turkey. I wouldn't advise that. Her best chance is to start tapering her dose down in small increments at a time. Depends on how much she's taking now. However, I'm nor sure if a clinic will "allow" her to taper...
Good luck and let us know how she's doing!
There is a lot to learn about methadone, and there are many people on here that can help.
