stages of emphysema

by Theresa, Jan 20, 2000 12:00AM
my father has been diagnosed with emphysema.  he is only 53 years old. he is allready on steroids, oxygen, and bronchodilators. his o2 is at 60% and expiration is at 16 sec. he is disabled by this disease. simply walking across the room completely wears him out.

my question is what stage of emphysema is he at? could you describe the various stages.

thank you,

theresa

Sorry to hear about your Dad.  I had an Uncle pass on from emphysema.  Did you post your question to the internal medicine forum??

All the Best,

Nicky
