gone cold. help!

by worried friend, Sep 13, 2001 12:00AM
i am worried about my friend. he is thirty and a frequent pot smoker (four-five times a week). i have been noticing that his fingers and sometimes entire body go cold in the hour(s) after smoking. sometimes he even shakes when speaking as his body gets colder. the skin around his eyes sometimes tinge purple. is marijuana exhasberating a more serious condition or is this just a reaction to marijuana? please help with any information and other resources. thank you.

Wow..I have no idea what might be going on with him. I'm not a doctor, but have never heard of that particular reaction to marijuana.  I'd suggest he see a Doctor right away to get checked out.

Wow,    I'm not a Dr. but my nursing career sometimes can be a little helpful at times..LOL   you may have hit the nail on the head when you say his smoking may be exacerbating a more serious condition...has anyone eve heard of Reynauds syndrome?  I think it affects mainly the limbs and digits (fingers and toes)  but in any case Skip and WW are right   your friend should see a doc for a proper diagnosis and be honest with the doc as far a pot smoking goes....honesty is very important when it comes to making a correct diagnosis...love to all   cin
