adderal is a mixture of dextroamphetamine and amphetamine. you

should expect a depresion and lethargy when stoping the use of

this drug. maybe some vitamin b complex would help.

I am trying to quit crank all by myself.  I was using neadles just a week and a half ago.  I am about to go crazy looking at websites, calling phone #'s I see for drug abuse in the phone book.  I have talked to a people from a few locations in my area and all the available beds for the programs are full until March. This is not what I wanted for my life and I want out now. I have admitted and see I have a major problem. Now that I want to do something about it, I am not so sure if their is any progams actually out there to help me. Please, I have a problem, is there any plan to go by or any program available. I only used needles 2 weeks.  It was 2 weeks to long. I know i can never snort or smoke it again, and i don't want to be a needle user.  I want help, I need help, I am just crying for someone to give me the slightest blue print i am suppose to go by at this point.

Anybody willing to give me some inspiration or advice please email me at ***@****

Thank you with all my soul,

Hi Callisoa,

Have you tried to go to an NA meeting for support while you keep looking into a more structured program to attend?  You will find a wealth of people there, all willing to help you work toward getting and staying clean, and getting your life on track.

Welcome to this forum..please keep us posted and let us know how you are doing. We'll do all we can to help.

Callisoa:

welcome to the forum. we always have room for one more inside.

methadrine huh... way back in the 60's i went around the bend

with that stuff a few times. the crash is always real ugly for

me. witchy woman's advice about trying out NA sounds like a good

idea. Methamphetamine is not physically addictive so you won't

go thru any withdrawals. you will however go thru a real bad

depression and extream lethargy. Some b-complex vitamens will

help your neverious system. small doses of (valium 5-15 mg) will

help you thru any discomfort you have in the first week. i bet i

haven't touched crank in 25 years, but i do remember what the

crash was like.... i felt like a large pane of glass breaking!

SPEED IS FOR KIDS OR PEOPLE WITH TOO MUCH GOOD HEALTH AND FUTURE!

I am with Witchy Woman, you should get to the nearest NA meeting.  Not only will they love you until you can love yourself, they can also give you MANY resources, phone numbers, etc.  They will tell you their experiences and give you advice on where to go for more help/treatment.  Rehab, etc, if you feel you need it.  Welcome to the forum.  We are glad to help you here and good luck!  Love, Maryanne

PS  The people at the meetings have many answers for you and if you don't like what they have to say, you can go to a different meeting and get different input.  Good Luck!

get thee both to a benzodiazepine! You're going to need something such as Valium, Klonopin, Xanax, Librium, Ativan. I recommend the slow-acting ones for speed withdrawal, like Valium, Klonopin or Librium. Librium is, I think, the best of the detox benzos. Anyway, fell better. Hope you have access to some of the above.

I wanted to add, that if you're going to quit a drug, speed is certainly the one. It's on that elite list of drugs that simply nobody can handle. With speed, it's a question of how much damamge you're willing to tolerate. Because it's inevitable with amphetamines. Not that I don't fondly remember a few nights of speed and pot ... just too much damage. Use the benzos and the detox recipe, it will work for speed, too. Speed depletes many of the same neurotransmitters as opiates. Good luck.

Hey everyone. Need some help. For about 1 year or more, I have been taking Lorcet 10. I am currently (or up until yesterday, been taking up to 2 per day. Yesterday, I took maybe a half a one. Last night before bed, I got a terrible hot flash before bed. By the time I made it to bed, I was shaking so bad. Like I was cold, but I wasnt, I was shaking so bad , I could not stop. I was sweating. This lasted for about 30 minutes. Then I became nauseus (spelling?) and had to go to the bathroom.  Today, I have had about a half one. I need to come off this and if there are people here willing to help, I would very much appreciate it. I need the support so bad. I have to kick this, I have been on and off for 2 years. Fortunatley, I have never gotten over the 2 per day. But, if I dont stop now, I know that I will be up to 30 in a couple of years.

HELP ME

Ready to quit, eh?  Two Lorcet per day should be too hard on you physically as far as withdrawals so I'll skip to the psychological part.

When you depend on a drug for as long as you have, your mind gets "imprinted". Anyway, that's what I believe happens. It's not like you can hit delete and start over again with a fresh screen.  No, for many of us here it's been a long and arduous trek of seeking for answers.  Fellowship and sharing play a big role in recovery.  You might even try Narcotics Anonymous for starters.  With time, love and an open mind you may be just fine!

I don't think you posted in the wrong place, by the way.

THANKS J.B.

I think, and Im just thinking, you meant to say the withdrawels "shouldn't" be too hard :-) At least I HOPE thats what you meant :-)

But thanks so much for your response and Im going to give it 100%.

THANKS AGAIN

Jb is right,,,at 2 a day the withdrawals should be minimal...compared to the 20 + hydros that alot of people here had been taking.....the withdrawals are horrendous.....after the discomfort of the physical symptoms subside which should be shortly in your case maybe you may want to consider some 12 step help...keep in mind that if you contiue taking them if you don't really nee them for the pain then the problem will only escalate.......you did post in the right place..keep us posted on your progress   love to all   cin

You are correct, I meant to say "should'nt".  I'm happy you picked up on it and still got my meaning.  That's how it all works in life and even in addiction. Probably the hardest part is to be able to admit that you have a problem.  Then you tell someone else about it and the ball starts to roll.  You will never be without help unless you want it that way.  Hiding out is not a good way to live.  You'll only end up by yourself, with yourself and end up hating yourself. This kind of selfishness is a killer for many of us.  If nothing else, ask God for the strength when you need it.  It will come!

Thanks guys! Well, the leg and stomach cramps have started and IM so afraid its going to be a long night.  I do believe with the support from this page, I will be able to kick this. I havent really liked the feeling they have been giving me for a long time. I have a thyroid problem, and I now truly believe this added to my symptoms. I refused to ever increase my dosage for fear of overdosing. I am going to go to some NA meetings as soon as tomorrow.

Would it be in bad taste to take a couple of Valium over the next couple of days, or should I just tough it out.

THANKS

I COPIED THIS FROM ANOTHER POST.....

Here's my tried-and-true do-it-yourself "cold turkey" detox protocol.

Supplies you'll need first:

As many Valium, Xanax, Librium or Klonopin as you can get your hands on.

--- first day off the opiate, use enough Valium or whatever, to, if possible, sleep through most of the first couple days. Then start decreasing the dose until you're down to nothing in about 5 or 6 days. You'll have to do the math. The Valium or one of its sister drugs will help tremendously with the anxiety
