I was on Wellbutrin (Zyban) for a month or so and stopped no problem. At the low doses I took (2 150 mg/day) it was nothing.

I am also concerned about confidentiality. I am a lawyer and if I go into treatment, I risk both losing my practice, and having a bad mark on my record. On one hand, the Bar Association encourages lawyers to get help for drug/alcohol problems, but on the other hand it penalizes lawyers who seek treatment by placing addiction problems in the lawyer's permanent record.
I wish I was stronger to deal with this on my own, but I have to admit that I am not. The "Thomas Recipe" is good but it does not seem to work for me, probably because I have no will pppower. I am also single which doesn't help the situation because there is no support within the home and no one to monitor my drug use. If I want to take a handful of pills, I do. At work, I appear to function fine. In fact, I have won two of the biggest cases of my career while being stoned out of my mind.
If anyone can help, I would ceetainly appreciate it.
Peace and love

I went to the hosiptal ER and told the doctor I needed to
detox and it be confidental. They took me very serious and
put me on my way to recovery. They help with more than the physical part of it also.I hope you can find a doctor that knows he's/her's stuff.I used phenobarb and clonidine for withdrawals.
Then I started the recipe.I am on day 29 and I feel better than I have in years.I was smart,I used the medical community
and turned the tables on them.I wasn't there to get drugs I was there to stop drugs.I think it kind of throws them when
you go and ask for their help in stopping.
Believe me stopping isn't as easy when you do it alone.
Get the help of a doctor,it will be alot easier on you.
Do you have a primary care doc?.If so,it's his job to treat
you without devulging any of your history,Good luck and
keep on posting.
Congratulations on Day 29. I hope I can get to that day sometime soon.
I'm just feeling really lousy right now like there is no hope. I took the rest of the week off hoping I can come up with a solution. I took what I think is a big step and flushed all my percocets down the toilet. I still don't have enough nerve to flush the oxycontin yet and it may not be a good idea considering how much I've been taking.
A former girlfriend, who is still a good friend of mine, is coming to spend time with me next week. She knows the entire story and maybe with her support I can kick this hellish habit.
Once again, thanks for your support!!
24 hours. My primary care doctor phoned in phenobarb and clonidne and for 8 days I withdrew very hard. But the barbs and the bloodpressure meds really helped. The person giving you
the drugs should be the one to detox you, whether or not you
were abusing the drugs yourself. My doctor knew how to let me go thru w/d's.He kept me from hurting so bad.It wasn't easy at all.Didn't really feel worth a **** until day 20.That's when I started the recipe. From the first day after I had gotten the
opiates out of my system, did the recipe start to help. It's all a mindgame anyway! My only advise to anyone who really wants off
this ****,Stop taking opiates. It does get better.29 days!
