Marijuana and Hepatitis C

by Judster, Oct 12, 2002 12:00AM
If you have Hepatitis C. can smoking marijuana occasionally harm your liver? What about having a couple of drinks only on special occasions. Only once a month or two?

Drinking is real bad.Now smokin'pot doesn't hurt you but the things you do while high on pot can hurt you.I smoke on occassions but I don't let it lead to other things.Also stay away from the munchies.The food you eat will effect your liver.

Just use you head about it.

Speaking of marijuana - does anyone know how long it would show up in a urine test after the last time you smoked it?  Also is there anything you can take to cause a false/positve on this test? I'm curious because there's something going on in my life right now (not me, for once) that causes me to ask this question. Thanking you in advance, Lisabet.

it stay in your system for a little under 40 days

more like 30.

as far as masking agents most test  today are looking for masking agents. and they can get you in as much trouble.

this fourm really is not the place to br asking that type of question,

so you mught want to look else where on the net undre masking agents.

honesty is the best policy.

i really do wish you well, i really don't want anyone to lose thier job because of bad judgement

we all here have made simalar mistakes , but we are not

here to enable each other to continue to make bad judgements.

good luck and i hope everything works out for ya.

It depends on what type of smoker you are.  A chronic smoker can take up to a month.  A once a week smoker can take as little as three days or a week.  A person's metabolism and fat content play a role as THC clings to fat cells.  There is no set number for how long it takes.  Generally, if you are a moderate smoker, give at least three weeks to be comfortable.  If you smoke 24/7, then a month will be the best way for you to feel comfortable and confident for a urine.  Some chronic smokers can be clean real quick.  It depends on the person and usually how much you smoke.  No magic formula.

Beating the UA

The basic idea behind passing a UA is to provide a sample with the highest possible ratio of water to drug metabolites. Here's what you do:

1) always make some excuse that gives you 4 or 5 days til you have to test -- weekends are always handy for buying time;

2) for the FIRST 2 days ONLY, do light aerobic exercise (jogging, bicycling, swimming) along with lots and lots of hydrating (drinking lots of water);

3) STOP ALL exercise 2 to 3 days before your test (exercise releases drug metabolites, which you don't want so close to your test day;

4) For the final 2 days before your test, drink water constantly so that you're pissing every hour on the hour;

5) Whatever you do, NEVER, NEVER give them the first urine of the day (it contains lots more drug metabolites than urine from the rest of the day); IMPORTANT: Stay up all night prior to your test and drink water like a fiend (but remember, NO exercise!).

6) A few hours before your test, take 1/2 of a full-spectrum multiple vitamin tablet to color your urine for the test.

7) On the morning of your test -- without fail -- make sure you pee at least twice before you go over to the lab.

8)IMPORTANT FOR MEN AND WOMEN: When you give the sample, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER put the start of the stream in the cup!! The beginning of the stream is loaded with metabolites. Instead, start peeing in the toilet for about 5 seconds, then fill up the cup. Also, don't put the end of the stream into the cup, either. This technique will ensure that your water-to-metabolite ratio is so lobsided that it would take an extremely sensetive (and expensive) test (such as a gas chromatograph) to detect any illicit substances.

99% of drug testing is done by private clinics who are only interested in collecting the fee for conducting the test and clearing the employee. Even the state parole and probation departments use this method. The exception is when sensetive government jobs are involved or for pharmaceutical manufacturing jobs (damn!).

Anyway, that's the drill. Good luck. Oh, yeah, forget that Golden Seal **** -- it doesn't work and many places test for it.

To: Marajuana test?!
To beat a marajuana test, simply refrain from smoking any THC containing materials for at least 30 days prior to testing. This will assure a negative test result.

If that is not an option, Thomas's recommendation above is your "Best Bet"--

In pain tonight.... BUT... It only makes you STRONGER!

Dube, Mrmichael, Thomas & Jess, Thanks for the information; I really appreciate it.  As to Hippy, I found your post a little condescending; you say this forum is not the place to ask questions like this; I thought this was an open forum, you've made me feel embarrassed; I won't be posting here anymore. It didn't concern anything about anyone losing their job; it was about my 15 year-old son. Don't know if you've read any of my previous posts, but I'm also a user (8-10 hydros) a day, so I'm feeling particulary vulnerable; wanting to quit and don't yet have the strength; I thought this was a place I could ask questions without being rejected (maybe I'm being too sensitive--your post made me cry, but it's just the place I'm in right now).  Lisabet

I know how you feel right now (I have felt the SAME way on many occasions), but don't turn your back on the forum as a whole due to one experience. I don't beleive that hippy was passing judgement of any kind upon you, by the way. He happens to be one of the most caring posters here on this forum, and I'm sure that it was his *concern* for your personal well-being that may have appeared to you as condescending or judgemental. Please keep posting. We need YOU as much as you need US.

Please don't feel embarrassed by what hippy said.I truly dont think he would have wanted that.He really cares about this forum and all the members.Maybe you were both just having one of those emotional days.This forum needs you .Sometimes we say things wrong and sometimes we take things wrong.I think were kinda like a big family and just as in a family we're bound to hurt each others feelings sometimes.I hope you continue posting here.

well i don't want to offend you, or make you feel bad.

and i did not mean in any way to be condesending.

what i was trying to get across was that this fourm

is not a place where we help each other  to get away

with doing drugs that are aginst the law  or teach each other how to get away with passing a drug test when we are useing

there is a reason why they have drug test, so we don't hurt our selves or others,

none of us here are saints , and most of us  ,myself included

have done many things aginst the law.

but i understand this fourm to be a place where we are trying to do the right thing.

you can still ask any question you want , im sure some will answer it,i hope all works out for you .

and you don't have to leave the fourm because  im not prefect.

we have to allow other s to be wrong sometimes and to be allowed to make mistakes, like i said i could be wrong .

take it light

lisabet, like hippy said, we try not to encourage each other to do destructive things.  telling you how to pass a drug test isn't constructive...it encourages you to do the wrong thing.  hippy is the most non-judgemental person here, so i'm positive he didn't mean it the way you took it.  his posts are always about caring and being positive.....stay.

hippy you cool dude...how are you?  what have you been up to this weekend?

his wife is here now and will probley stay over nite.

her husband needs to learn how to act with kindness and

treat his wife with affection. and not act like a jerk.

they have been married for about 2 years, but there is no excuse

for the verble abuse. hopefully i can get through to him.

peace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hang around, lisbet. I will always answer your questions regardless of which noses get out of joint. I imagine the powers that be will eventually ban me. So what? ****'m. I might just start my own forum where the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth can be told. Hope your son beats the pot narcs.

I went there but you have to wait on them to accept you.I guess

that leaves me out.And if anybody gets banned here it will be me I am sure.But thanks for saying the things you feel because alot of us look for your help here.

                     Thanks again!
