I hope the forum is okay now but some how I think there is still trouble, I need this forum and it is the only place I have ever found that I can be honest and okay no matter where I'm at. I want to keep going and open up I have so much to say and want to share.  My time to quit is approaching and this forum is going to be the key. I hope it keeps going and thank you to every one who has stayed true to themselves Peace DB

Hello All:

A good day 24 started for me at 3:30 this morning.  As with past periods of extended non-use I'm finding that if I wake up after 5 or more hours of sleep I'm up -- no problems sleeping, per se, I just don't seem to need so much sleep when I'm not getting only 2-3 hours every other night and otherwise wearing myself out all the time.

    Any word on WW's leg?

To: any computer expert - help
Hello all.  I went to look at my email at one of my accounts last night.  It is a Yahoo account.  It said I had no new messages, however, there were 6 already opened messages that I had never seen.

Is it possible that someone has hacked into my personal email?  Could supplying a person with your ip (I think that's what it was) information give them access to anything in your computer?

Also, the light on my computer keeps flickering and it's making the noise that it makes when the hard drive is being accessed.  It sometimes does this even when I'm not doing anything...it's freaking me out...any suggestions out there?

i believe you told me you have a broadband (not dsl) connection.

most true broadband connects use an IP server that assigns ip #'s

as you log in. just turn your computer off at night (when your a-

sleep) and several times throughout the day. that way your IP will

be different each time. did you recieve any from me?

Hippee:

hope i got the spelling right.

i envy you getting back to work...i'm the kind of person that draws

a good deal of self worth through work, so my esteem is in a kama-

kaze nose dive these days...oh well, all i can do is turn it over-

again, and again!

hey everyone keep an angel on your shoulder

Thanks for asking bout me!

The numbness from the SI injection wore off finally, and I"m back to normal. The good news is that the epidural did indeed lower my back pain to a more tolerable level. Woo hoo!!! I'm very happy about that. I don't know how it will last, but I'll take what I can get while I have it.

I still have some pain, but it is down to a 5 or 6 out of 10.

I hope your sleep gets back to normal soon.

love,

WW

broadband is a dedicated line, right? does it use a VPN with "floating" IP addresses?

how are your hands feeling?

by GOD, Oct 23, 2002 12:00AM
To: gwh about "Broadband"
Ricky! (check your e-mail!)

It depends on which TYPE of broadband you have, gwh.

DSL is a "Dedicated Subscriber Line" - Once yo0u connect, you have the same IP until you disconnect, and then re-connect.

Broadband CABLE ISP's allow your computer to "Float" around with the assignation of IPs.

Did you have only one injection so far? If so, do you have others planned?  They normally do them in a series of 3.  They did not work for me but did for a friend of mine.  I found out today what I suspected, I will be having another decompressive laminectomy in a few weeks.  How dod I get through this without narcotics?  I will just have to be careful and limit how many I use.  I know they will give me some demerol in the hospital for the first day.  I am not looking forward to another spinal surgery, but if it will help me to somewhat get rid of the pain then it will be worth it.  I will still have the dehydrated discs, which will continue to dehydrate and end up rubbing against each other in the future.  The Dr. won't even discuss that at this point, he is more concerned with the stenosis.  When I asked him about the dehydrated discs all he said was "We know you have a lot going on with your spine" that was it. So , dod I just wait until the pain is too much to bare from that before they go in again for a third time?  I guess my life as I knew it is over, no more long Harley rides, might as well sell it.  I guess I am discouraged, thats all.  OK, enough venting, gotta go!

Hi Maxine,

I can so relate to your feelings.

They didn't say anything about other injections for me. The Doc wanted to wait and see how this one affected me. What I had done was an SI nerve root injection, done under flouroscopy. I could see my spine on the exray screen, and watched the Doc place the needles. It was so wierd.  The funny part was seeing my navel piercing jewelry show up on the flouroscopy picture. LOL I look so straight, the nurses were chuckling and saying "hey, we got ourselves a sexy mama here and we didn't even know it" I was glad they had a sense of humor.

Basically, my Doc wants me to have fusion, and the surgeons asked him to be sure I had this injection done first, as it is diagnostic for them whether I respond to it or not.  Doc says I need fusion. I say 'no way, but I'll try to talk them into referring me to the artificial disc trial study here in San Francisco".

If I need narcotics to get through, like you might, I'll be very careful with them. I will take them if I absolutely need them, I will make sure I have someone dole them out to me, to reduce the possibility of the Dragon waking up.

Maxine, sometimes we need narcotics to control pain. Period. As long as we are careful to not let them rob our lives and suck our soul by us abusing them, they are a tremendous benefit to us.

But as addicts, we have to be especially careful in how we take them.

I still am planning on only taking them when abslutely needed, and right now my pain is much lower, so I don't need them.

I hope you don't need surgery, but if you do have it, let's hope it takes care of the pain.

love,

WW

I wouldn't worry too much about the forum closing.  It will be here as long as it makes money for it's owners.  As long as it makes money neither you nor I will have any power to close it or keep it open.  Just cyber reality.

Peace

Can anyone give me a little help? I had an ankle arthrodesis (ankle fusion) on Oct 7, and Doc prescribed Oxycontin 2x20mg per day - 1 in am,  1 in pm, and 1-3 oxycodone every three hours (this is a pain I've never experienced before, and I've had 2 babies, and this was my 4th sugery on this nakle to attmept to repair a break that was neglected whenI forst broke it) anyway, while onthe 'contin, I was having dreams/nightmares, but no pain! so I stopped the 'contin on saturday 10/19 and by Sunday 10/20, all I could do was cry.  Granted, I have alot going on, husband moved 3 hours away to start a new job, I'm here alone with 3 kids, house up for sale, out of work, in bed off the foot for at least 6 weeks no weight bearing, I am terrible on crutches so doc got me a walker so I could got to the bathroom, but I'm still in alot of pain, and STIll cry at the drop of a hat. Any comments? Maybe I'm just finally losin' it cause I've been in pain for the 2 years since I broke this ankle!

Thanx ww, it does appear that I need another surgery, I saw teh MRI and it is unbelievable how much it has closed in just 10 monthes.  Stenosis at 36, who would have thought it, it is an older person disease.  Such is life, huh?  I promise not to abuse the percs, I have an addictive family (alcohol) and do not want to go down that road.  Like I said though, the dehydrated discs mean another surgery somewhere down the road, when, I don't know. 2 in one year is enough.  This will actually be 3 surgeries in 3 years, a hysterectomy, laminectomy, and now another laminectomy. yuck!!!!!!!!!
