Also, what happened to Annabella's post? She was crying out for help and only a few of us answered, and now I can't find her post at all.  Forgive me if I"m just scatter brained and not looking in the right thread, but I just don't see it, and was a bit worried about how she was doing.

Annabella, if you read this, how are you?

Hi ChiTownGirl...I'm still here; read the posts every day; just not posting. Still trying to taper a little bit (unfortunately, a very little bit) :) Reading the posts inspire me though; one thing I have been able to cut out (most nights) is the shots of Jack Daniel to help me sleep. I've tried Valerium (sic) that someone on the board suggested; helped a little, one night I used Benadryl and other nights Nyquil. (Really mixing it up, aren't I?) ha. Just can't let go of those pills that easy though.  How are you????  I like the gentle tone of your posts; I can tell you're a kind person.  Hope you're feeling well; I'm sending good thoughts and energy your way.

Hi Witchy Woman - how are you? I always enjoy your posts also; ditto on the kindness. The post from Annabella is on about the 4th or maybe 5th post down; its still there.  Everyone have a good weekend. Lisabet

Thanks guys, I appreciate your responses and kind words.  I am OK, still trying to taper my daily T3 doses down to nothing.  I was up to 15-20 a day, I know it sounds shocking but I have built up such an enourmous tolerance thats what it takes for me to feel "normal".  I was having a really tough time the past couple of weeks because my cat died.  I had her for 14 years and she literally died in my arms.  I cannot get the last look she gave me out of my head, every time I think of it tears well up in my eyes.  Anyway, we have since adopted a new cat from a local shelter and she is an absolute joy to have around, very affectionate and loves to be held and picked up, something my other cat didnt like.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone, stay positive and as KIP says, keep an angel on your shoulder.   CTG.

hello everyone,

i had posted under a different name before but my nickname says it all. i am 2 weeks out of detox today and have been doing meetings quite frequently (2 a day) i got myself 2 god sent sponsors who are working the 12 step program with me. it is a program called back to basics. i have seemed to take a liking to A.A. although i am a opiate abuser:-( to all out there who read and post....what i found in the short period of being clean is the one and most important issue to recovery,  (i am sure the old this is not old news) THE DESIRE TO QUIT

I am sure there are people on this sight who are legit in taking there meds (sorry) once you have hit your bottom and the desire is there.run with it. this recovery is not an easy process. you have to work at this. allow yourself to take this time in your life to build the tools in which you can carry around to defend your cravings or compulsions. this is what i have learned. this is my 2nd. d-tox and i am seeing the light.

ask youself, are you willing to do what it takes to stay clean?

i think everybody who takes the time to post also has the desire to learn the program. hippy.........i am in your neck of the woods. prob. in your backyard........good luck and GOD bless........phillybee

I'm still here too. I'm trying to focus a bit but it's been really tough lately.

I check in here everyday but there's been too much **** going on around here...sooo if it's not helping turn it off right ? That's what's always amazed me about people who complain about tv etc....gee turn it off...read a book...do something.

I've worked with my doctor to drop the doses down...still on Clonodine...but I can see the pattern there as well. I was really stressed out the other day and the stupid thought " Just take one during the day to calm down " crept in....I'm not going to do it mind you...but the mind of addiction is very crafty. Don't ever screw around with blood pressure meds. My shrink is off sipping wine in France these past two weeks, so I don't see him till next Friday....got a lot to get off my chest. Came to work this morning and started to cry....I'm watching my mother deteriate from Alzheimer's....my insides from my old electrocution wounds are tearing me up and I can't get in for a MRI until three weeks from now....I get tired of it all at times that's for sure...I do keep asking myself what life's all about. I got an e-mail this morning from a friend who said that in the next life if I was re-incarnated I would live a wonderful life due to all that's happened to me since loosing my arm and leg at 14...then going on to do a lot of work for others....BUT...I've always been scared of re-incarnation....afraid of coming back as a ....tape worm in a .....Afghan...girl...:-) Boy would that suck !

Anyway...I'm still waking up each day on this big blue marble...glad to hear your tapering program is working for you.

AND thanks Phil for all you do in regards to this forum...it's gotta be a pain in the butt....but it does provide a service to others and if there is any reason we are on this earth...that's it.

Have a safe weekend all...

Hi There - If T3 means Tylenol-3, I don't think anyone here will be shocked by your doing 15-20 a day.  I don't know how many T-3's it takes to make one 10-hydro (I would think at least 2), but there's lots of people here (me included) who were doing 15 to 20 of them a day.

Onestep, I am so sorry to hear about your mother and the alzheimers, from what I read/hear about it, it is one devastating disease and to watch a loved one go through it must be pure torture to your soul.  My prayers are with you my friend, god never gives us more than we can handle right?  I always believed in reincarnation and hope that when we come back we are better human beings, smarter & stronger than we were.

Catuf, I don't know how many tylenol 3's it would take to equal one hyrdo, my guess is since T3's are the weakest of all it is probably right around 15-20.

Glad to see everyone is back on track using the forum correctly and no bulls*t is happening, I get enough of that from my workplace, and believe me my workplace can be an absolute zoo somedays!

Have a great weekend Onestep, Catuf, Hippee, GroovyGirl, Lisabet, GWH, Smokethisvette....I am glad you guys are my forum friends.   Sincerely, Chitowngirl.

Hey ChiTown - glad to hear you're enjoying your new cat. I think it's good you got one whose personality is completely different from your other one - that way, you have a whole new experience and won't be so quick to compare him/her to the other one. I'm also a cat person, but I now have a little 10-year old maltese whom I wouldn't take anything for, but won't never have another one. He's more demanding than any kid you've ever seen. But he's one of the best destressers in the world. Animals are a gift; they love you no matter how low you feel.  Was glad to touch base with you today, hope every day proves to be better and better. For me, it's kind of touch and go right now. I do good some days, some I don't.  I read this forum to get inspiration and suggestions, several which have already helped a great deal. It's now 12:45 am where I live, I've taken 6 hydros today and really wanting to take a couple of shots of JD before I go to bed. But gonna to resist it tonight, just took a dose of Nyquil and getting ready to jump in bed before I change my mind.  :) Take care, Lisabet

I actually am from that area although I have not been there in 12 years.

I liked that fact that you got a new Kitty. Are'nt Kitties and dogs great. They always give their unconditional love just like the LORD promised.

Hi, Chitown girl.

I actually am from that area although I have not been there in 12 years.

I liked the fact that you got a new Kitty. Aren't kitties and dogs great. They always give their unconditional love just like the LORD promised he would do so long as we ask him. I have had cats all my life and can commmunicate with them even with telepathy. I know that sounds weird, but it's true.

I have tens cats and one dog. I used to have five other dogs but they either died of old age or I found homes for them since they would attack my kittens. The dog I have now is great, he goes everywhere with me.

My cats now have the entire backyard garden of Guahan to themselves with no dogs to bother them.

Yes, I think animals can be family as much as children and will help us when we are sick. When I was withdrawing, my cats all stayed by my side until I was well. I try to stay healthy to keep my home and my kitties. Hope you are doing well. I sort of over did myself today mowing and feel a little seizy and the pain got to me but tomorrow is another day.

Take care,

Chatahan

Hi there...I have a new kitten too.  We adopted him a few weeks ago.  I love him so much, and our daughter is thrilled to have him.  We have a dog and guinea pig as well, so this place is a zoo...they all chase each other until my head is spinning.  Luckily neither one is interesed in eating Pedro (pig).

Have a great weekend...it's pouring rain here.

How can you communicate with your cats like that?  Can you email me at ***@**** so we can discuss this?  Thanks!

Chatahan uses ESP...... Christian ESP!

Just Kidding Chatahan. I believe you about communicating with your kitties... I've seen women do it, no kidding. It must be a woman-thing, though. I love my pets, but I don't think I can read their minds other than, "I'm hungry!!" or "Gimme' some more catnip!"

Hope you all are having a "swell", or even "Peachy" night!
