What state are you in?

You might want to check the website titled "American Society of Addiction Medicine"  (ASAM).  They have a search engine where you can look up doctors within your state and town.

A friend of mine found a doctor at Mass. General Hospital from this site.  She found him to be very good and he really understands addiction.

Good Luck and Happy New Year to you!!

(hope i got the latest spelling right!!)

i don't know how you can locate an addiction specialist in your area

but: maybe what you really need is a pain specialist. in my geo-area

pain docs have to first take trining in addiction medicine. This makes a lot of sense to me as the treatment of pain invairably usually leads to addiction! I certainly hope you can strike the "balence" you are looking for.

Hope this gives everyone a little smile:

Forgot to take my dose of Immodium AD this morning... had a meeting with a customer around 9:00, about 10:00 my colon decided it did not want to attend the meeting. I make a lame excuse to leave.. do the squeeze the butt cheek boogey too the bathroom... **** hits the water before the ass hits the seat... close call! Boss calls to tell me had good a job I did this year, but.... the rest of the company did not have such a good year so no raise... Get home, walk in the house and my 15 yr. old son is on the phone yelling at his soon to be ex-girlfriend (3rd one this year)... my wife and 12 yr. old daughter are having a knock down drag out.. 12 yr. old announces she hates the whole family... Now at this point a month ago I would have reached for my "**** it" hydros and went to my room and watched T.V., but with the help of this forum I just logged on, read a little and posted. Thanks to all of you!

Sorry for the graphics!

The daily challenges of a life of work and family. Is it a wonder why we became addicts to numb us.  This adulthood is for the birds, but it has it's rewards. I have two daughters 7 and 12, even the dogs and cat are females.  Hell I am the only male in the house. Scary, but a blessing to. Your sounding good my friend and living life on lifes terms.  Uh, glad you were able to beat mother natures calling.  Now that would be embarassing.

God Bless

Greg

I was going to suggest going to the website that the forum doctor spoke of.

You can search for an addictionologist by state.  Also, it has other information that you might like to read about Buprenorphine.

Let me know if you can't get a list, and I will get it for you.

Hi,

I know just what you are going through.  I am now down to 6mg. that is when I started major withdrawal symtoms.  It is different for everyone, I found.  I am currently looking into buprenix, not easy to get, I hear.  But I am hoping to find someone to prescribe it for me so I can get through the rest of the detox.  Anytime you want to discuss detox issues feel free to email me. Hang in there...
