i been on xanax for over a year. my doctor gave it to me along with clonidine,bentyl,and quinine during my home detox. i admit it took away the anxiety and helped me sleep but also started a xanax addiction (even though i dont abuse the xanax). you have to weigh the pros n cons and figure whats best for you.

xanax is really addictive. I took 12mg a day for about 7 years. that stuff gets in your cells, in your dna. just the smallst reduction and your body reacts. I'm still on 1/8 mg of valum after 1 year of withdrawl and still have migranes and very painful legs. I know heroin addicts like "benzo's" particually xanax to highten the effects of heroin, also methidone. Good luck.
