How to use Hydrocodone GF Oral

This medication may cause dependence, especially if it has been used regularly for an extended time or if it has been used in high doses. In such cases, if you suddenly stop this drug, withdrawal reactions may occur. Such reactions can include runny nose, sweating, restlessness, widened pupils, loss of appetite, goose bumps, irritability, and shakiness. Fast heartbeat and muscle/bone pain may also occur. Report any such reactions to your doctor immediately. When stopping extended, regular treatment with this drug, gradually reducing the dosage as directed will help prevent withdrawal reactions. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details.

Though it is very unlikely to occur, this medication can also result in abnormal drug-seeking behavior (addiction/habit forming). Do not increase your dose, take it more frequently or use it for a longer time than prescribed. Properly stop the medication when so directed. This will lessen the chances of becoming addicted....

I cut and pasted this from a site about Vicodin...the part that makes me laugh is the last paragraph....'THOUGH IT IS VERY UNLIKELY TO OCCUR.....'

Who writes this stuff? IT IS EXTREMELY likely that addiction may occur, as we all know to well....

They got the withdrawal symptoms right on though!

I think they tried doing this in FL - I remember seeing ads in the paper saying "did your doc prescribe......(list the narcs)if so - contact this firm for possible lawsuit info"

I remember seeing the ad thinking I could do that - then thinking - no - I'm the one taking - why ruin it for the folks who need it.  Also, that meant I had to come clean in front of family - and I could never do that!

ANYWAY - I don't know if anything ever came of it - except for it being harder on the docs to prescribe.

Hmm... I think that the Docs know better than that though and know that even though people don't admit it, they ARE addicted to pain pills. They arn't stupid, they just like to act like they are I guess. They sure "know" about how easy it is to get addicted when you go to one trying to get pain pills. Notice how they don't want to prescribe them. At least around here anyway. I couldn't afford x-rays to get my pain meds so I had to go to a quack pain management Dr. to get some hydrocodone. He prescribed it too. I don't mess with that stuff anymore though (THANK THE GODDESS!!)

oh my gosh, what a joke.   my head is killing me, anyone have a hydro?!  the withdrawl is a little bothersome.  My head is cracking in two.  Will taking advil help me with my headache?  What can i do about my crankiness?   Any advise on my thoughts and feelings of hacking my husband up into tiny little pieces?  No, really, does anyone know of any safe home remedies of coming off of vicodin?  I went a couple of years of using them just for the 3 or 4 days that i needed them and just a couple of months ago i noticed that i kept taking them, like splitting a 5-500 in half each day and taking half in the morning and half in the evening.  Rather i take the half or not i have slight flu like symptoms and my ears just keep ringing.  Any helpful advise on helping me come off of my one a day addiction?

Go to the top of the page and hit the "POST A QUESTION" Button. Start your own thread. That way you will get more people responding to your question.

Wlecom to the forum. There are many supportive people here. Also go to the bottom right of the page. to most viewed health page. Look at Thomas Recipe. That will help with the W/d's some.

Good luck,

I'm at about the same place you are.  And I too have the ringing in my ears.  You and I are both on a low dose but even at that it is still hard to stop all together.  Are you in pain,is that why you have been taking them?

Tylonolyd works best for me for a headache, the advil does better for my back.  Good luck to you and you should post a question so it will go to the top for better advice than I can give.  There are some nurses on here that can help.
