The w/ds you are feeling is the worst part of c/t I never spent more time in the bathroom in my life! every bone every inch of your body hurts and nothing helps sleep? what is that ? just think how better you will feel in the weeks to come Iam 3months into methadone c/t at 350 a day I would take pill w/ds over that anyday stay as busy as you can I know it is hard but keep the mind busy!it takes a strong person to do what you and others are doin!
w0w 4days to withdraw from oxycontin?? it wasnt 4 days for me..it took me a full 3 weeks to detox at home from oxycontin. maybe cuz i was snorting over 300mgs a day?? then another time i detoxed from oxycontin at a detox facility it took 2 weeks (but i was only snorting 120mg a day at that time).
Morning Gipsee. I agree 100% and had tried both my Dr's (orthopedic surgeon and MD)but they wont give me an earlier appointment and I was going to run out anyway so I thought I would try while I still had a backup in case I didnt succeed.
Another day to get thru. Feel a bit better but that sometimes passes. GL to all! JT
All those feelings and w/d symptoms are very normal. Going C/T is very difficult. But with Oxys... it's not life threatening... the worst of it is over in 4 days.. then there are some issues after the fact...but you are doing good.
Sleeping is the worst. Truly I did the C/T thing... then when it was over fessed up to my Dr... and she really did say she wished I had the confidence in her to tell her she would have helped me.
The fall out of all this is I used Xanax to get me through the worst of it... Just to sleep... Now I am tapering from that ... C/T from the Xanax or any benzo is not advisable. Those ambien are useless aren't they? I tried Lunesta as well.. those did nothing for me either but leave an after taste in my mouth.
W/D causes pain in bones and muscles..but that too subsides over time and the pain I am left with is manageable. Certainly not at a level where I needed all the Vics I was doing.
I took Vics on a continual basis for 5 years. Scroll down and read some post... there are a few here who have gone the C/T route over the last month. You will see that the symptoms you are experiencing are what is to be expected from a C/T withdrawl.
Keep up the good work... be determined...you're almost there.
Gip
Thanks everyone! I am going to take another 10mg ambien (1st one felt like I had a cup of cofee... lol) watch the tv and pray for some sleep. Love to all stay strong! JT

i use to snort over 300mg a day of oxycontin (til i switched to heroin anyway). so i have withdrew from oxycontin many times..oxy is the worst detox iv been through (except for methodone). oxy is a solid 20 to 30 days of withdrawal so i would reccomend a slow taper instead of goin c/t. the only thing that i can think of to ease withdrawals is warm baths and valium for the anxiety and leg cramps. also bentyl for stomach cramping and clonidine for blood pressure. (youl have to ask your doctor for them meds)
Your so very welcome. But like I said browse through even the last few days. You would be suprised on what is all here. Or even the archives. Before I found this site, I don't think I had any intention of stopping for a loong time. But now that has changed. And all of what you are describing, many here have been through already. They have alot of great tips for things to help with the w/d's.
ANd again, I would definately keep checking your post because I am certain many will be responding. It's a little quiet right now, but that doesn't last long. The forum fills up quickly. Many many phenominal supportive people here!!
Good luck to you!! Keep us posted how you are doing hun!
Thanks Vic. I am just so happy someone replied and is out there. It is my 1st time posting here or anywhere. I have the feeling that I just need to keep on going as far as I can. Its all new to me.
Thanks you for reading and replying. It means more that I can say! JT
Hi there! I don't know much about the Ox's, I am coming off the Vicodin. However, I am sure it's pretty close to the same feelings. If you go back down through the posts there is a TON of posts for Oxy w/d..and many others. Also many tips, suggestions for things that may work for you. Or you could try a taper off if you wanted. But I would feel the same as you if I had come this far, I would not want to go back. But everyone knows their own bodies and ability of what they can handle. I couldn't do the C/T...I just could not. But that is me. I am sure someone will post to yours soon. But in the meantime take a look through the posts the past week or so, and I will bet you find alot of information to help you.
Good Luck to you. Prayers your way.
