Read here ... there is plenty to tell you what to expect... but nothing will match your experience of it.
Vicodin, if that's all your stopping, is really unpleasant at best to w/d from... but IT WILL NOT KILL YOU.
Take Vits... drink lots and lots of water. Days 2 and 3 stay really close to the Bathroom... and if you can get your hands on a few Librium or Valium...take them to sleep through the worst of it.
Go for it... you'll come out to the other side and have a brand new outlook on everything.

BTW... you guys... after doing a ton of reading about Benzo's Librium is noted to be the BEST for W/D.... it's half life is much longer than Ativan or Xanax...and it's not as difficult to wean from the Librium...Xanax is the KING OF BENZOS, really short half life and if you smoke...it's efficiency in working is 50% less than for a non-smoker. Just something I've learned and confirmed this past month. Confirming...meaning asking appropriate people who know answers. I have been asking a lot of questions lately..... should have done it before taking scripts I knew nothing about.
You can do a little homework and arm yourself with as much knowledge as possible, that's what I did. Still out of everything I read, (and copied and pasted to my 151 page word document!) did I expect what I was getting in to. It is diiferent for each person. Also, what your poison is depends on your withdrawals. I was a Methadone addict. I'm clean almost a month now. Methadone is supposed to be "the unbeatable" drug. WELL>>>HERE I AM>>>still kicking and clean for life.
You have to WANT it so bad you are willing to take that ride.
We are all here for you every step of the way.

P.S. I just found 3 more "vikes" and took them, now I'm mad at my self.

Your w/D symptoms are not so bad... 20mgs of the opiate a day...and your useage at this point is not that long... and you sound like you are young... all of these issues are factors.
You know you are taking them recreationally... and you already know that the same dose ... day after day... does not produce a high...CATUF said... we stay on them because we are all afraid to come off them... meaning W/D. It is not a candy coated party for anyone.
I was using them for 5 years. All in all.. I have the same level of "manageable pain"... as when I was using them.
Don't take these pills lightly... they can and will eventually have a devastating affect on your life....and you will look back at this time remembering.. W/D NOW weren't that bad.
