Just about to go into day seven c/t - feeling so much better!!

in a few hours, will have completed 6 full 24 hour periods won c/t; last night slept a full 5.5 hours; felt so much better; found myself able to get up and move around and felt like there was some energy; all a sudden noticed I wasn't going through the usual thoughts of when am I going to take (or get) a pill--dang that's a good feeling; but I am clearer this time that this stage--physical symptoms not so much/mental symptoms changing--is a very dangerous one mentally, as I have reached it before (though not in almost three years), so this time I can't let the feeling that I'm succeeding take me over into arrogance that I can handle a pill next time the urge hits; thanks friends, the fog is lifting

-jaxa, clearer than in years

SOOOO glad to hear that the discomfort is lifting. I think it's great, also, that you have clearly LEARNED from past efforts showing, also, that they were not a waste even if they didn't result in immediate sobriety. In line with what you wrote about not getting over-confident, I suggest using the times you feel BETTER to put in place supports (or keep them up) for times when you don't. Again, so happy!!

I'm with you.  The mental battle is the hardest one to fight.  Keep posting when it gets rough.  Being honest with yourself and the forum is also a good and humbling thing to do.

thanks much for the encouragement; I have learned from past relapses that this gets dicey now with self-inflicted head games; support here will help; hey, this morning I actually felt like eating a meal instead of a pill; haven't felt that way in a very long time
