Sleep Suggestion

I am on Day 13 and facing another night without much sleep.

My son (ICU nurse) suggests that I try simulating Rapid Eye Movement, i.e. moving my eyes quickly with the lids shut, after I go to bed.  He claims it will help me fall asleep.  Hmmmm ?

Has anyone tried this technique?  If so, let us know how it works.  I'll try tonight and report on Sunday.

Hey 1911 it has been a year for me and my sleep is still crazy. When I first quit I was up for 8 days. I started hallucinating I even thought about trying sleeping pills but didn't. When I was doing buckets of pain pills everyday I was asleep before my head hit the pillow, that is if I had three or four Percocetts on my night stand for when I got up.

I didn't find that simulating REM was any help in getting to sleep.  However, if it worked for my son, then others may want to try it.

I was alaways under the impression that rapid eye movement is a sleeping disorder. I have never heard of it being a sleep inducer. Then again, your son being an ICU nurse may know something we don't. Actually it doesn't hurt to give it a try.

Rapid eye movement is part of the sleep pattern. is is necessary part of sleep. I don't think you can do it consciously but I am going to try it tonight and will let you know. REM is what it is usually called and then dream. I think that is how it goes.
