Time marches on.

Tomorrow will be four weeks since I went cold turkey from Oxy and three weeks since I gave up on Tiaprofenic, the anti-inflammatory. For the past while I have been performing a self exorcism. Oxy may be gone but it left three of it's demons behind, paranoia, anxiety and no-sleep. I have so far defeated paranoia. I am now in the process of using meditation to defeat the other two. The last two demons work as a team. Anxiety keeps you awake and no-sleep makes you anxious. I thought I had them beat last night but I won't know for sure for a couple of days.
Managed five hours last night, the longest I have slept in four weeks. Drank green tea last night and doing it again tonight along with meditation and the rapid eye movement I learned here.
Keep the faith people. Shalom, Mannie

green tea has caffine in it.  You should try camomile tea instead.  Also have you looked into any meditation techniques?
I'm not going through w/d so i can't tell you from personal experience it works, but I have read as much scientific literature on meditation as I can find(the scientific study of it has recently blossomed with the new brain imaging technologies developed).
Meditation can increase your bodies natural painkillers...the endorphins.
I'm not saying it's gonna help you right away, but if you really look into it and practice it, I'll bet you'll notice a difference sooner than later.

How true!!! It's so hard to shut the mind down at night and get uniterrupted sleep. What is the REM technique? I'm up for any suggestions?  I learned meditation years ago and it has always been tough for me...clearing a mind that is always running is a tall order!
Have a peaceful day.
