Alcohol withdrawal and tongue tremor, and fasciculations - ***AMENDED***

by tohealth, Mar 28, 2007 12:00AM

I have been drinking heavily for a few years due to enormous amount of stress and trauma over more than 15 years.

About 4 years ago I was missed diagnosed with ALS, and went to China were I was evaluated by 28 doctors - some of the doctors were among the best in Beijing.

After seemlingly countless tests my 4 neurologists, and numerous other specialists I was diagnosed with extreme anxiety, stress, and depression. Most of my 14 symptoms that mimiced ALS and MS went away after taking 30mg's of Serax.

When I was in Beijing, I posted the two messages below on this board, and recieve a lot of support.

Please see the details here:

On the above link, more than have way down the page, you will see this:  "In China my MRI show protruding discs at my cervical spine that ARE causing cord compression".  That was an error is should have not  ...ARE NOT CAUSING CORD COMPRESSION.  There would have to be a revision of this post before it is sent back to the search engines.

After finally "believing" that I was did not have ALS or MS, I continued to see good pyschiatrists including internationally renowned Dr. Abram Hoffer and my symptoms when away. He and numurous other gave me this advise, " NO MORE TESTS"!

CAN TONGUE FASCICULATIONS AND TONGUE TREMOR BE A SIGN OF ALCOHOL WITHDRAWAL? I HAVE NO OTHER SYMPTOMS - EVERTHING ELSE IS NORMAL.

I had an alcoholic father who would go into convultions if he didn't have a drink. Maybe you could talk to one of your doctors, by the way what is ALS? Wishing you all the best.
