by 1st hand experience yes you can and will get addicted to tylenol pms. I started taking them in 2006 by just takin 2 per night because I also have trouble sleeping......come 2010 I am taking 3 times more than when I forst started because eventually you will start gaining a tolerence to the amount your taking. Just as with drinking alcohol tolerence will be increased, so I suggest you try somethionh non addictive whil eyou can because its not good at all for your system or your bank account
While it is true that tylenol pm is just a combination of tylenol and benadryl (Diphenhyramine Hydrocloride); Unisom (Doxylamine Succinate) is a different ingredient and also contains no tylenol. Like I said, the Unisom gave me a horrible headache the next day, but hey everyone is different.

My doc gave me Vistorol...it's just an antihistimine and is non-narcotic so I can take it with my meds.
Also, a natural remedy that works well is melatonin. It is a hormone that you can get at Walmart, Thrift Drug, etc. (over the counter). It really works and gets your sleep pattern back to normal which is good for those who have been sleep deprived due to w/d or paws.

the "sleep" ingredient in all the OTC drugs is just diphenhydramine = BENADRYL :) if that helps - benadryl is pretty benign, and it ALWAYS knocks me out cold!
I hate to differ with roof but tylenol pm works best for me and it isn't addictive. Someone told me to try Unisom and I woke up with the worst headache of my life. My head was two sizes too big. But everything is different so you can try both. (Not at the same time, lol)
