Ambien isn't any better. Try Melatonin (something natural). I don't care what your dr says - ambien is addictive and if you use more than 2 weeks, you will be addicted. w/d are no fun either. I only took 10 mg a night (never more) for 5 years. I am in w/d and it is hell - don't do this to yourself.
Hello I am a woman and have been taking an rx of Ambien 10mg once @bedtime. But, at my most recent Dr visit, this is not the same Dr that prescribed the Ambien btw, said that it is NOT safe and the FDA warns a woman should not take more than 5 mg per day of Ambien because more has been responsible for heart attacks in women.I was worried about suffering a heart attack, and happy to only take 5 mg instead of 10. Also, to my surprise, the 5 worked as well as the 10. I will say, and this is, what I hate about Ambien, if you stop or miss one dose you could suffer terrible nightmares. Wishing everyone that has trouble sleeping a peaceful nights rest! :)
ambien worked strange on me. My detox doc put me on 50mg of trazodome. He said it was because it gets you into the deep rem sleep. I guess I should feel a little lucky I'm averaging 6hrs a night.
i take lunesta and it helps me.. also Liquid Valerian Root also has helped me.. its natural mix it in some decaf Ice tea and you will never taste it.. i like the Arizona Stress tea it also has valerian in it.. I take a dropper and a half an hour before bed and it helps.. check your local health food store
I have not. I have terrible insomnia - always have. Right now Im taking flexiril - which is a muscle relaxer and the first few times it worked great - now, not so much. WEIRD. I am going to the doc tomorrow so I will ask again - will let u know if I find out something helpful. I hope you sleep.
love, tracy
Thanks for responding, yeah I agree they dont work consistntly. Have you found something else that has worked for sleeping....perferably non narcotic. Hope all is well.
not a doc - but I have taken 1 and 1/2 before and did fine. Those are strange in my opinion. I found they worked kind of sporatically. I hope this helps and I hope others chime in as well. I would hate to give advice such as this and it be really wrong for you. I would research it a little beforehand if you can. good luck and I hope you sleep soon.
sincerely, tracy
