Big Loser!

I barely even made it 2 days without giving in!  I though I could do this but I was wrong...so wrong!  There is no possible way I can work without these and my boyfriend can't either for sure!  He works in the hot sun on a bridge lifting heavy things all day long!  I am moving back home to Massachusetts from Florida in the beginning of July.  Stuff is too easy to get down here!  I never had this problem up north...I didn't even know anyone I could get it from.  Florida is like the land of drugs and its no joke!  I know that a change of scenery doesn't change anything but at least my bf and I can take time off before we find a new job up there.  I am going to call and find out about suboxone right now.  Is suboxone a lot easier to come off of?  Could I take it for a month and the just stop?

Hon, stop it, your not a loser or a failure.  This is a very serious addiction.  Maybe if you have insurance you can try subutex or suboxone.  I know your a bartender and I know you live in florida, I know they dont like to pay or give insurance to the hospitality workers.  It has taken me so many times to detox and I am only on day 10.. Its one of the hardest things I have ever done or will ever attempt.  The thing to remember is once you have opened your eyes to the world of pills is they are everywhere.  I know Florida has a ton of drugs, but, look at this board, people from everywhere.  Once you used, you start noticing how easy it is to score, wherever your at.  Maybe you can give yourself a rest and start a taper that works for you.  You can do it,, It can be done.. Just give yourself a break, it did not take one day to become addicted, its going to take time..  Im here if you want to vent.... Huggs, Georgia

I just tried calling a place about getting on suboxone.  They said it was $700 for the first 3 visits.  Then $125 a month for every other visit.  Plus...about $200 a month for the suboxone.  Are all places really that expensive?  I mean...I pay a lot for pills but that is absolutely ridiculous!

The price does seem high however, its seems cheaper then what you said you pay for vics a day now.  I am new to the site so I didn't know what to say about you going cold turkey and working.  I didn't want to discourage you.  I felt as though you were setting yourself up for failure.  This is not an easy thing you need to schedule 5 to 7 days off.  Good try though.  You are not a failure, your plan was, this is hard

Just because you couldn't do it this time, does not mean you are a failure.  Do you realize how many times most people have tried to quit their addictions before they finally succeed?  The important thing is that you want to quit.  So make a new plan and try again.  It doesn't have to be right this moment but as long as you have the desire to quit, you will.  You have been on my mind and just know that I am here for you.

I think Fladdict has a great idea.  I was thinking if that does not pan out then why not try to taper and then detox when you have a week or more off.  Maybe taper for a while and then get someone to cover your shifts.  I know it takes a while to detox, I am a total bear, I need time off work.  You need time to just lay around and feel like ****.  You can do it, dont just blow it off.  At least you are trying.   Thats more than many people are doing.. I know you are going to do it.  It just takes time.  I know I dont have insurance and suboxone is expensive, but, it is worth saving up some tips and then doing it and never having to worry about paying for these pills again,, Whatever you decide, you are not a loser,,, Huggs, Georgia
