Thank you and yes I will keep all posted on how I am doing. I only want to give back to the people in need. I am feeling so much better. I had to get rid of my cat last week so that kinda put me a little down. The past couple of days I have been cleaning and rearranging my apt. so that also helped. It feels really good to be doing it sober now. Now if I could just find the perfect hormone replacement I would be great! How are you doing tonight?

Thanks for checkin in! Why did you have to get rid of your kitty? If you don't mind saying. I could not even fathom that. They're my babies just as much as my daughter is. Grey is the oldest he is 11, I lost his sister Samantha a little over 3 years ago, tore my life apart. I know only one other person who feels the same way about their pets, I don't expect most people to feel the same but you seem like someone who would be able to understand it in someone else. Did your kitty go to a good home? If you are looking for a good HRT have you tried black cohosh? It can sometimes help with withdrawal symptoms too because it binds to your mu opiate receptors (most opiates bind at least to that particular receptor. This research is what led us to believe that opiates played a fairly essential role in temperature regulation, at least at certain receptor sites. It might be worth a try, it's effective for hot flashes in quite a few women after a hysterectomy or during menopause. What are you currently taking?

Do you have plans on this beautiful friday night? I'm just going out with hubby for a while. Went earlier to a dinner party and now we're gonna go eat (again lol) out on the beach.( need to relax after hangin out with all those elitist snobs we grew up with hehe. We just put baby to bed.

It is so nice talking to you. My plans for tonight are a hot shower, some food and bed. I had alot of things I needed to get done around here and I am feeling so good I just powered thru it all and now I am done. The beach sounds sooo nice, I haven't been down that way in a few years. They have become so overcroweded. Where are you from if you don't mind me asking? Yes my kitty went to a good home, had to make sure of that. I only had him for a few months but he just would not settle down and would not stop biting me. He begin to take over the house, and I felt really bad because I will be going back to work soon and he needed alot of attention. Right now I am taking only estrodiol. I am looking for something more natural to balance me out and to help with my emotions and energy level. I had a hysterectomy last year and two repair surgeries after that, that is what started the whole pill thing. I hope you enjoy your dinner with you hubby! Thanks : )

I love talking to you too hun! A shower, food, and bed, that is the best! isn't it? I love it. I'm from Bel Air. Right off of the Bellagio entrance that is literally right across the street from the west entrance to UCLA so I was in walking distance of school. I refused to commute in LA, I would have just moved to Bel Air if I didn't already live there when I started college. You know it's different to do it for work, drive in the morning and drive home but when you've got classes spread all throughout the day, if you commute you can't just hop on the 405 and go home for lunch and that would have been miserable! You may not even know what I'm talking about, I'm sorry, what state do you live in?

So now you are just taking the synthetic estrogen, no progesterone? I would imagine they would have given you both. I don't know right off the top of my head but I can get some info. for you on some natural HRT's but black cohosh might be a good start for you there. How are you doing with the estrogen so far?

That's really too bad you couldn't keep your kitty, at least he's in a good home that's so important. I know this is reeeaaalllly personal but I know a lot of women who have problems with "lubrication" after hysterectomy or during menopause and it makes it hard to have sex with their husbands. Progesterone really helps with that, b/c that's the hormone that really keeps the cervical mucous in balance. Anyway, I probably shouldn't be talking about that in the forum but it has been a really big issue with quite a few women I know.

Wow, that's amazing, I know excatly what you are talking about. I grew up in the Indland Empire and now live up north. I know LA a little bit. Thank you so much for taking the time for me and yes I know about that LA traffic, lol, that is why I moved up north! As far as the hormone, I did have them tested, and I have 0% of progesterone. I was going to get three creams, one for the testosterone, progesterone and estrogen, but I had to stop seeing my doctor to get away from pills. Having no insurance makes it even harder. And it's cool that you brought up the intimate part, and yes it is becoming a problem, if you could take the time to help me find something I would REALLY apprecitate it. I am also having weight issues since the surgery and I heard that with the right hormones they can help with that too. Enjoy the beach, it's supposed to be a beautiful weekend here in CA!

Wow! a fellow californian in the forum, that's great. Are you in the bay area or further up north? I rarely visit there, I've always been a "so. cal girl" Nowhere else feels quite the same. A good friend of mine moved up to san fran several years ago w/ her hubby so they could both work for her dad's construction co. She grew up there and then her parents divorced so she lived with her mom in so. cal. and we went to school together since jr. high. She was the last one (next to me) that anyone thought would settle down but she was first! lol Anyway I'm really glad you weren't offended at the intimacy thing, I'm just such an open person about everything, (I mean my husband has always come with me to my ob/gyn appointments b/c it was just as cool to him as it was to me to see what's going on inside my body. Even before we were married he always came with me to my annual check ups at the ob/gyn) that I have to watch myself with certain people who are touchy about those things and uncomfortable talking about them. My hairdresser even talks to me about all that after she had her hysterectomy 4 years ago. She has been using a blend of certain herbs that I should ask her about again because they have been extremely helpful for her. That's really too bad that you had to stop seeing your doctor but were you seeing an ob/gyn? It is  crucial to see a specialist in women's health after a hysterectomy. Even birth control pills have both estrogen and progesterone. And you can get the pills that have just progesterone (not as effective against pregnancy) but most breast feeding mothers use the progesterone only pills since it has no adverse effects in the reproductive system and no risk to the baby because it simply thickens the mucous around the cervix making it harder for sperm to get through. So I don't know if that might be a less expensive alternative for you for right now, I imagine it is a possibility. I have a couple of friends that are specialists in women's health especially in pregnancy and HRT I will talk to them but doctors really aren't very well informed on natural treatments. It's not their fault. There was a time when a doctor and a naturalist or homeopath were considered equal, then come the pharmaceutical companies. They started medical school and fund medical schools therefore controlling the cirriculum and what the doctors are taught and how they are trained, this is why many doctors look at homeopaths or herbalists as "quacks" There are cures for so many illnesses that doctors will tell you there are no cures for. No pharmaceutical company wants anyone to know about a cure, their goal is simply to treat, when you treat symptoms the patient has to keep spending money to continue treatment. If there's a cure, no more money. And not only that but doctors get kick backs for every prescription they write. The newer the drug, the more money they get for prescribing it. So even though your doctor may know something will work better for you, giving you the drug that's "hot off the press" works better for them, and their beach house payment lol. I know it's really not funny, I see people all of the time getting medications that their doctor d*** well knew would not be nearly as effective as a different drug and the number of doctors doing this seems to grow by the minute. I'm going to pull out a couple books out of my library and get some info. for you on some natural therapies for HRT. Give me a little bit as I am not a specialist in women's health but I can get you some good and current info.

Thanks for listening to me ramble so much

xoxo- D.
