Alcohol medications?

by jaibird, May 15, 2007 12:00AM
Is there a medically administrated shot for alcoholism that helps prevent cravings and/or alcohol abuse?  I have heard of perscription medications which are known to help with alcohol addiction but would like to know if there is a shot that can be given that will last up to or longer than 3 months.

I have been recovered from alcohol for 3-1/2 years now. But I also visited the hospitals many times for detox. They usaully detox you with sedatives, such as Librium, Valium, and anti-siezure meds, such as phenobarbital.

After my last detox, my doctor kept me on phenobarbital and valium for a while, because my alcoholism was chronic, and probably about 1 year away from dying (if I continued on drinking).

My advise to you, would be to check with your doctor to see if you need detox, or if he can write you an anti anxiety pill (for a short period of time) will get you through the initial phase, but as far as desiring the alcohol afterwards....

there is is only ONE remedy I KNOW that truly works and has freed many from the bondage of alcoholim, and that is...,,,

Cry out to the name of Jesus Christ, tell Him you really need His help and want to be free of this bondage, the humbly ask Him to forgive for your sins.

DONE DEAL!!!!!  If your sincere in your prayer to Him, You will be able to walk away from alcohol and NEVER DESIRE it again!!!!  And THAT IS IT, kiss Jesus, and kiss alcohol good bye!

Sound to good to be true? Try it..and see what happens. What do you have to loose?

It is the only true way to walk in freedom, without walking around drugged up, only to find yourself desiring to drink 3 weeks later.

Jesus Christ is the ONLY True WAY!

He has freed AND healed thousands on top of thousands of alcololic's - Just as they testify, so can I...

Pray with your heart, with sincerity, and just a little faith...that is all it takes!

Then you can tell others, how you became free from the bondage of death and alcoholism!  Watch and see!
