Are flexeril and ketorolac additive?

by fedupinmt, May 18, 2007 12:00AM
Are flexeril and ketorolac additive? Doc put me on these to help pain management, instead of hydro 7.5 and tramadol that I was really starting it depend on. I've been getting my own rx for last 2 months and occasionally for aches and pains for  last couple of year, If I didn't have my own my mother always had some for her arthrites and since shes not an addict she always shared - not afraid of running out. So had been using them almost daily for a couple years. Wed. evening listening to talk show about legal rx withdrawl. Boy that woke me up, so I found this web sight. Looking back I can see the withdrawl symptoms on and off for last 9 months but would feel like **** so got another rx or used one of moms. So without realizing (admitting) I just kept myself addicted. I know I don't have it as bad as some but still scared all the same. Don't forget trying to hide all of this from hubby. He thinks my family is a bunch of addicts, this kind of reinforces it don't it? lol I just want to make sure what the Doc put me on won't be worse to get off of. Any help would be appricated. fedup

Thanks for the info that relieves me a bit. Still feel miserable and aching all over. But reading all of these questions and comments makes me know I'm not alone with this problem. I just read about post acute withdrawl symptom, it said it takes 2 years for your mind to get back to normal and I thought stopping smoking was a pain. Anyone have ideas how to get motivated to get things done? I need to do a bunch of a stuff to get ready for my sons high school graduation. YEA!!! All I want to do is sit and veg or rock back and forth the shower. Any ideas would help bye. fedup

in the upper right hand corner you can type in "thomas recipe" and there are lots of supplements and things to do to help you through the first stages (I guess the worst part) of withdrawal.

You asked about the Tyrosine in another post and it is a supplement that is part of the Thomas recipe.  I think it is recommended to start taking it after the first few days because the recipe (or maybe I read it somewhere else on this forum) that it is better to sleep through the first few days of the withdrawal because you feel so terrible.

I guess it depends on what day you are on in your withdrawal and how much you were taking of what and for how long.  I know that the recipe and several people say that warm showers the first few days help with muscle spasms.  I am on day two myself and I haven't had anything that bad but I weaned down under the supervision of my doctor and took pain for legitimate pain (which it sounds like you did as well).

Hope this helps.  If you have trouble finding the Thomas recipe on the forum just let me know and I will cut and paste it.

give me a break.  what rocks have u guys been hiding under?  any scripts and i mean ANY can be addictive even if they are not addictive.  man, dont just ask one person on here.  if u have to question why u  have been on something for a long time, there is a problem(deal with the "aches"  like most people do).  popping a pill for our aches and pains are the reason why there are so many addicts.  i am a recovering addict.  sure, i loved street drugs, did them for years.  also LOVED my scripts.  i got my hands on whatever the dopeman had to sell or whatever my many doctors could give me.  once i decided that i had to kick all of this **** i found myself abusing everything from welbutrin, flexeril, ambien, atarax, paxil, and even my depakote.  addiction issues start from within oneself.  u need to look at why in the heck u cant/wont deal with ur aches and pains.  go to pain management therapy.  u dont need a pill.  sure people do need meds, but not for the wussy reasons of today.  do u have a painful disease like cancer?  doubtful.  many diseases cause unmanageable and unbearable pain.  u are just seeking approval for ur self-destructing behavior.  SUCK IT UP PEOPLE!!!!
