Suboxone. I don'tknow everything about it. It seems similar to methadone. Check with MissyJoelle on the post above.
Same wiht mine thats why I switched dr. Maybe a pain or meth clinic would be helpful for you. Or a pshoc. would probably be better. From what I have been reading and I had the chance to do it again I would do the Sub route. Check into it. Look back at some of the old posts. Also MissyJoelle I believe is dooing that, ask her about it. I think she is still online.
the only drs i go to give me pills.
thanks for the help but i need to get completely clean.
You have been having withdrawal symptoms because you probably tapered down a large amount all at once. If you are doing 250mg/day you might want to try 245mg for a week and if you don't have w/d at that amount you should be fine to go another 5mg the next week. Often times when I taper patients it will have to be adjusted just as your body is trying to adjust to producing its own endorphins again. If you w/d at 245mg/day then you might want to take it down by 3 mg. instead of 5mg and you might be able to do 5mg later in your taper. I know tapering is long but tapering too quickly increases your risk of relapse greatly. Have you asked your doctor to taper you off of the oxys and hydro.? Opiate withdrawal rarely imposes any immediate risks but if you are unhealthy it can. It is rarely fatal but can be, and it is usualy only fatal in inhealthy patients. Going cold turkey can cause permanent damage to the central nervous and cardiopulmonary system.
If you want to stop the oxys now and don't want to go cold turkey you can go the suboxone or methadone route. Suboxone is a partial agonist ana a partial antagonist to your opiate receptors so you are supposed to be starting to go into withdrawal before you take your first dose. If not it will cause you to withdrawal. Suboxone also contains naloxone which is an opiate antagonist, antagonists block the effects of opiates so if you take the oxys while on suboxone they will not have an effect. It is not impossible to become intoxicated while on suboxone but it would be difficult. Some choose to start on subutex(buprenorphine) It is the same drug as suboxone but without the naloxone so the w/d should be mild. Then start suboxone to control cravings, this is one advantage suboxone has over methadone.
If you choose to use methadone you will not have withdrawals, methadone has no antagonistic effets. You should not be high taking methadone but it can cause you to get high in very large doses. Methadone, like ultram, also increses serotonin and norepinephrine. This can be very effective helping any depression, sleep problems and pain. It is a very long acting opiate as is suboxone so it is only dosed once a day. It can be dosed once every other day or every two days but most doctors and clinics like to keep patients on a steady daily dose.
How much and how long have you been tapering so far?

Do you have a docter that you can work with?
