upper right side chest pains

I abused drugs for years. Now when I smoke, the upper right side of my chest burns, and or tightens up. From my chest to under my armpit. What can I do until I see my doctor, for relief

It could be something to do with your nerves or muscle pull.  Did you pick up or lift anything heavy? A muscle relaxer might help or some ibruprophen. I hope you feel better. I would call your doc and see what he says.

Hey misshall,I'm not a Dr.,but does it feel like it's from stress or anxiety?
Are you in withdrawls or taking much meds?Does the pain radiate down your
arm? If it gets worse, maybe you should look into going getting it checked out.
Let us know. Good Luck.

I would deffinately get som chest xrays.  lung csncer is no joke, and i really don't mean to scare you, but you'd better get it checked out for your nerves sake.  hopefully it's just a pulled muscle.
