my back is bothering me.......ibuprofen tylanol not effective.

by justlikeyou, Jun 28, 2007 12:00AM
im tired today, this all began because of an accident where i hurt my back 5 years ago.

anywho, my back is occasionally / regularly sore, typically i have a good day, do a little too much and pay for it the net day.

800mg ibuprofen or  tylenol do almost nothing for me, (im 220 lbs can i take more?)

im sore and cant enjoy my day because i dont want to do anything because my back is sore.

is there anything more effective than ibu that wont become a problem?

advil, aleve etc etc?

hey buddy, just read your post.

i very much sympathize...

if you haven't tried hot epsom salt baths, and/or 3 Aleve at a time - try those.

i get it.. i just had to cxl plans for tonight because of the same deal.

but i just remember your posts and how inspirational they've been... so try this stuff first maybe?

good luck,
mj

Not an expert but are you able to do extensive stretching. This helps my lower back. Read some of these post if you are considering stronger meds(opiates). Good Luck

Have you tried stretching EVERY day and back exercises (among others) regularly/frequently?

by justlikeyou, Jun 28, 2007 12:00AM
last thing i want to do is strech and excersise my back when i feel like this :(

but myabe ill give it a try?

it will be much easier to quit the exersise than the pills :)

Hi there,

You can try the Alieve...it's not IBU but in the same family...it's tends to work for a longer period of time. It is actually Naproxen.

If IBU is not helping. try some Alieve, and see if that works better than IBU.

The Doc. perscribed me 550mg 2 x Daily.....so what ever that is according to the over the counter Aleve??

Hope something helps you out!
