I'm scared

I thought I was going to an addiction specialist tommorow and they were going to prescribe me sub. and something to get off the ativan. I just found out I will only be seeing someone to analyse me then refer me to a specialist. That could take another two weeks. It's so hard to get doctor appointments where I live. I am so scared I will run out of ativan and go into a seizure or something. I also feel like hell and am ready to get on the sub. I'm really scared!

No dr will let you sit through wd's knowing you are willing to stop and that is why you are there. He may give you something to last until the next appointment, Tell him your fears and be honest.

Can you cut back on your adivan just enough to get you through?? IF it is for anxiety.. go pick up some L-theanine at the vitamin store or pharmacy.. it has helped me alot.. I take it in replacement of xanax..

Maybe you should change your appt to someone who CAN prescribe to you.  I believe in most cases that they can get you in rather quickly.

I don't think they will let me do that. Change my doctor that is.

Who won't let you?  The insurance company?  Who?

The insurance company won't let me. It's just how they do things.

I am an insurance agent and that truly sucks.  Don't panick as I am sure that will only encourage you to take more ativan.  Try to make it last, and if you can't, maybe the prescribing doc could call in a couple days worth to get you through?
