New, can someone help me please

by lovetohateoxys, Jul 06, 2007 12:00AM
Hello. I am new to the forum and have not posted yet. I have been trying to quit a four year oxy contin addiction. I recently had almost 40 days clean with no opiates whatsoever. I felt good, tired but good, I relapsed last week and have been taking small doeses of oxy every day since. I am finished as of today and going to try and quit again. Will the w/d be as bad as before. I used to take about 500mgs of oxy a day. This past week, I only took about 40mgs a day. Today will be 7 days in a row. What should I expect. Please help...I will take anyones advice.

Thanks you

Welcome to the forum!  I too had a big oxy habit.  I've quit c/t over four months ago.  I don't know if I'll be able to answer your question, but I would guess the withdrawals won't be quite as bad.  I've only quit from doing large amounts, never tried to get the mgs down before quitting so I can't tell you definitely.  But I'm sure there's someone that's done it that way and will be able to give you a more definite answer.  A lot of people have gone away for the 4th of July holiday, but by Monday everything should be back in full swing.
Good luck and again, welcome!

I think that you should be ok. I am not sure how the process really works, but if you had that long with nothing in your system then you really werent psychially addicted as much as you were probably mentally addicted. I hope that I am not wrong. But, you may expereince some w/d, but nothing too major, or not like what you went through already. Good luck to you. And you can do it this time. You had 40 dys before, now shoot for more...you can do it...

I never did the Oxy's just the hydros but I would imagine that your wd's would be no where near as bad as your first go....  Personally, I went with suboxone which is replacement therapy.... I'm not all that happy about it but it does work.  If you can, start tapering immediately!  Get off and stay off for you life!  Do it to be free!

Well, I just cannot go through that again, I am praying it wont be as bad. I was clean for over a month, so does that mean anything? I hope so. I am over these pilss and them ruing my life. I can't take it anymore. I knew by taking one little piece would make me want more and more..And it did. Now, I did them for over a week and may possibly have to go through w/d all over again. Well, thank you and I am done this time....

I am sick today and craving vicodin or any opiate so bad.  My entire family is outside swimming and I am here inside withdrawing and craving.  Withdraving from opiate addiction is just about nthe same for any kind of opiate.  I was taking 20 vicodin es or percocets every day.  I got a script for 100 es on Saturday and they are all gone.  The New York State Department of Health sent a fax out to all of my doctors (3 of them) and said not to give me any more pills.  So, I made a decision to quit right away.  I have an appointment to go the a doctor Tuesday to begin Suboxone and I am unsure if I will going.  By Tuesday I should be feeling better.  After detoxing from methadone in 2003 I swore I'd never use another drug to detox with.  So...I am really trying, I have a bad headache, sneezing, runny nose, body aches all over and that disgusting creepy crawling feeling all over my skin. The RLS is the worst b ut the heating pad works

It is considered fraud to go to several doctors for a controlled substance.  None of my doctors knew about the other.  So, I'm done with Dr's, pills and wasting all my money and time chasing the pills.
