Real tired still!!

Hello all. I have been taking Vicodin for twenty years. I was taking 4 - 5 750/500 a day at the end. I went on subuxone 29 days ago. I used it for 5 days. Did the taper thing. The doctor didnt like it. She wanted me on it it for longer period of time. Anyway its been up and down. The cravings are not there as much. First thing in the morning is still there. But now for about the last week I seemed to have lost all my energy. My arms and legs are heavy, and I want to just lay around. This didnt happen early in the withdraws. So my question is, is this normal? Or should I be looking at other problems? This is all new to me. Energy is something I have never lacked in the past. I go to bed every night hoping I will wake up feeling better. But it hasn't happened yet. I started a new job a month ago and this is not good. I hate to say it, but it has went through my mind to start taking the vicodin again if it makes me get my energy back.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Your energy will return.  With heavy opiate use our bodies stop producing endorphins.  It takes about 30 days to resume your energy.  With methadone even longer.  I am on day 3 and have no energy at all.  I am laying in bed as I type this.  Don't go back on the pills because eventually the day will come when you have to detox again.  Time heals all of us. I have to go back to work on Monday day 5 of my withdrawals.  I'm a little nervous about that.

Big pat things will get back to normal your heaviness in your arms legs is not an unusual development happens to me and almost everyone who quits so do not despair..It just takes time and as soon as you feel like you can drag yourself out go to some N.A. meetings they will give you the extra support you need. And try not to look back till time comes to make things right with those you harmed with your addiction..If you have a spiritual road you walk walk on that road as much as possible the creator cares about us, and will give you the strength you need. I have faith that you can do it pat so hang tough you will see, it was just the drugs not wanting to let go...ma-ga....a-wakan

hibig pat- if you can , try the amino acid recipe that's been posted here...it really has helped me as i taper down, and then as the energy wanes, i have added l-tyrosine, which is specifically for energy....we spent so much on pills, spend only 20% of that on aminos and you will feel the difference.....hope this helps

aminos are a good idea and FLaddict told me also that a good vitamin B complex is necessary to absorb the aminos....

I'm not sure if anyonw will see this or respond-but I back slid so fast it hit me like a train! I went from perc 10/750 to soma & roxy. from there to oxy, and last weekend coke & crack.  Sunday, I took 1 darvecet and drank a beer to sleep.  I finally broke down and told my doc and she gave me antianxiaty pills, great, but I can't figgin stay awake!  (this back slide happened in 5 months)  i keep yawning, cant' focus.

sneaky,
you know what to do.

big pat, ive been exhausted for 70+ days i get a couple hours here and a couple there where  have some energy, but essentially exhausted for 70 days, only in the last couple days have i had some enegy all day. 71-72, im guesing im on the way back, but i wont be supprised if i have many more exhausted days and many other symptoms of my long term opiate use, i think this is why most people never quit, its a hard road for more than 5 days, stick with it, it does get better and you want your life back right?
