My husband had the same type of itch. His problem was the brand of soap he was using. Try changing yours.

Do you take very hot showers? Try cooling down the water alittle, and use a good lotion afterward. You are probably drying out your skin. Also, try a gentle hypoallergenic soap like Dove, or Neutrogena.

this is a common thing..there is even other threads on this site if you do a search.  I dont have it in the shower but there is a name for it.  some people getting it exercising...an itch w/out a rash...i get this in the winter but mine also brings me breathing problems and i get exercise induced anyphalaxis.  I am so sorry I cant find the name for the shower one...I have seen it so try doing a google search on it.  I think it has to do w/ blood pressure and/or nerves.  I also get cholinergic urticaria which is hivelike symptoms....after exercise, but some people get that in the shower if the water is too hot.  I agree w/ using cooler water.  It may be a help, good luck.

Hi everybody,

I've been looking over the posts and it appears there are similar symptoms, without much analysis.

I've got symptoms, which I don't know if they "go together" or are from more than one problem.

I've had hayfever all of my life. I found I was allergic to sulfa drugs when about 18. Also, allergic to penicillin, and aspirin. Food allergies consist of cantaloupe, sometimes apples, sometimes clams and probably more.

The only drug that I have been on for sometime is Triamterene/HCTZ, which contains sulfa, however, it isn't suppose to affect folks with antibiotic sulfa allergies. ??

Symptoms include:

Itchy ankles - I blamed on the diuretic Triamterene/HCTZ (quit taking it 3 days ago.) Triamcinolone helps this.

Itchy skin - chest, face

Pimples on head - which seem to respond to anti-fungal spray (some). These occur once a month or so.

Loose stool - not diarrhea, but close (a tsp. of Metamucil usually corrects it for a day)

Throat tight - wheezy in cold weather, or after exercise (sometimes) This seemed to occur right after I quit smoking. ??

Shortness of breath

Fatigue

I could suspect drug allergy, food allergy or fungus.

I have an appointment with allergist in June, but am not optimistic.

I am experiencing an itching all over but without bumps,  Sometimes it feels like something is crawling on me or biting me.  I thought I was breaking out in hives again, but I didn't see the red blotches that usually appear.  My scalp, face, neck, everything down to my feet itch.  i have beencareful not to use harch soaps.  I usually use Dove.  I don't know what it can be.  I have seasonal allergies but try to stay in the house as much as possible.  Maybe it is connected to my allergies.

To: anyone that can help!
I need help!  I have been having alot of itching for MANY MANY months (don't know how long anymore).  It is most likely at night when I go to bed...my palms of my hands get really itchy/and warm ......I scratch them til they almost bleed.  Then the bottoms of my feet have the same problem.  I am big-breasted and have been itching like crazy underneath/and in the center between.....lately it is even in other areas of the breasts themselves........whats going on?  I do not have insurance so haven't gone to see a doctor about this problem.  Does this "connect" with anything that you can think of with regard to possible "disease"?  Thank you for your comments.

it sounds like scabies, there bugs that get under your skin and lay there eggs and poop the only way to get rid of them is to go to a doctor and get meds  before it gets really bad and infected which can cause seriious problems it is very contagious also. good luck
