facial rash, small bumps, no itch, dry scaly but normally have combination skin

by kari huff, May 18, 2006 12:00AM
I have had a rash on my chin that's coming around to the side of my mouth for about one year.  It's slowly getting worse.  I am 27 and pregnant, but wasn't pregnant when it began.  The rash a little red, small bumps w/ peeling, doesn't itch.  It looks pretty bad and I have to wear makeup to cover it up, although you can still see the peeling and bumps.  My skin everywhere else is combination/oily.  It isn't dry at all.  I have a little acne but not terrible.  What do I do?

If you just want to try to treat it at home, you can put hydrocortisone cream on it twice a day after washing your face. This is generally considered very safe during pregnancy, but if you are worried about it, ask your Dr. if it's okay. Your next best bet would be to see a dermatologist for an analysis of it, and possibly a biopsy of it to see what it is.

Thank you very very much.  I was trying antifungal cream and it wasn't working.  The cortisone cream has been working since the second day.  Thanks so much.  Does this mean that it's most likely an allergy?

Hi--I am new to this forum but I have a question that I hope someone can help me with. I have a 'bump' on the inside of my right nose/eye area that I thought was a blemish/pimple, due to my period coming on last month. But, this 'thing' never aquired a head, and it stayed, and it hasent gone away. This thing bothers me and I did the dreaded thing that I have NEVER done this morning, and steralized a needle and tryed to make a head to drain whatever is in it, and there was nothing to come out of it. I am not going to go to a dermatologist for one bump and pay alot of money for this, so I was hoping someone had some suggestions as to what this could be and what I could do about it? I am 44 years old and look very young, and have normal skin, and get the normal blemishes for period times of the month. So if anyone has any information for me, please let me know, I would so appreciate your time. THANK YOU!
