Injection for anti-allergy to numbness in the right side of my body

by Arnel, Jun 12, 2006 12:00AM
Last week I experienced itching and went to the hospital for check-up,the,doctor prescribed me hydroxine syrup, after several days the itching still within and went to see the doctor again and he gave me a tablet B-Complex + Hydroxine 10 & 2-vial (forgot the name)injected in my right buttock. Since then I felt relieved w/ my itching. Two days after the injection I felt numbness in the right side of my leg and right upper body. I thought that it is maybe due to the effect of the injection but until now (a week after) this numbness is still there. I went back to same hospital to consult this numbness, they referred me to the neurologist and there the doctor prescribed me the following medicines (Vitamin B1,300 & A.S.A. 80 - Acetylselicylic acid 80 m.g. E.C tablet).

Questions:

1. Does it has something to do with the nurse who delivered the injection in the wrong point or direction (correct my medical words)?

2. Is this a mild stroke?

3. The doctor recommends for a brain MRI (to see what)?

4. Please advise if there is mal-practice in delivering the injection? If there is, can I sue the hospital or the doctor or the nurse?

5. I am scheduled for a brain MRI x-ray on the 18th of June 2006, though I have to proceed if I will be feeling ok w/ my numbness within the next few days prior to X-ray?

6. Please provide me your scientific and medical advises for the above.

Sincerely Yours,

Arnel
