Redness and Itchiness...

by StealthSudaka, Jun 14, 2006 12:00AM
Ive had two problems in the past, and one has gotten worse than the other:

1- My nose gets really red, for some reason it just turns red and remains like that for the entire day... even on days I dont suffer allergy. The weird thing is that my doctor told me that it was an allergic reaction. I started taking medicine, and my symptoms like itchy eyes and stuff went away, but my nose was still red; it is right now, and its winter! (Im in room temperature by the way).

I wonder if it has anything to do with this disease:

"granulosis rubra nasi"

Im 19, but this disease is only manifested in children.

This is really a cosmetic issue but it is kind of afecting my social life.

2- Whenever my body changes abruptly from cold to warm climates, or when I begin to excersise in warm clothing in cold temperatures, I suddenly get this very sudden sharp itchyness all over my torso, my back, arms, neck, and my head. I start scratching like crazy, since it IS extremely itchy! If I leave it alone, it gets worse... so I scratch. So when Im done with the scratch fest, I lift my shirt and notice rashes and redness everywhere. I asked my doctor about this and he told me its something passed down from parents or relatives, and I have an uncle who has the same thing. Its not allergic, I really dont remember what it is because my doctor really sucks when providing information.

I need to know what these two are, and if there is any possibilities that both belong to a certain allergic reaction or something, please let me KNOW!!

thanks :D

I used to get red patches on the side of my nose (either side, about the 'inside' third of the cheek).  Started using a completely plain soap from moondancesoaps.com and it's largely disappeared.  No, come to think of it, whatever redness and the itchiness has not come back since I started using unfraganced soap.  They have a completely natural and unfragranced skin lotion.  I've steered clear of lotions for years because of the 'itchy' skin they gave me.  I might try that next.

Just a thought, but it sounds like your condition might be more serious than mine.
