Allergy to chocolates

by dove1980, Jul 06, 2006 12:00AM
Hi everybody, I'm suffering from this strange allergy thing that i have only after eating or drinking some chocolate products. It never happens when i eat normal chocolate(Cadbury's/ferrero Rocher etc)...or when i eat Tesco chocolate chip cookies or muffins or drink normal chocomilk...but whenever i eat muffins or cookies from other stores or drink hot choco it happens. i feel out of breadth, start coughing, and rashes come out. I'm really worried as i'm trying to get pregnant and fear it'll affect my baby. I went to doc and he couldn't help me!!! Can anybody help plzzzzzzzzzz?

Make a note of the ingredients in the items that affect you and the ones that don't. Get these lists from several of each category. You should see one type of something in the products that affect you that is not present in the others. Keep in mind, many people are allergic to the oils in foods. Such as, peanut oil, safflower oil etc. You may notice that the foods in the allergic category have different oil types, but check to see that they are not in the non allergic products. What I am getting at is, you can be allergic to several oil types, this is very common, sometimes people get confused by this and start ruling things out instead of realizing that there may be more than one culprit. I hope I have made myself clear.
