Am I ok?

by Nestle, Jul 24, 2006 12:00AM
Not sure if this is the appropiate section but i'll give it a try anyways.  Okay here is the problem, everytime after I finish taking a warm/hot shower my body will have many itchy parts all over my chest.  It becomes red as well and i'm not sure what is wrong.  It takes about an hour or two before those red itchy spot stops and goes away.  Does anyone have the same problem as me? Please help, thanks!

Hey thanks for the webpage, it really helped.  I didn't have a clue what it was and if it was a big issue or not.  I guess I have to go to my family doctor to get some medications.

PS. Yeah it does occur when I take codl showers too. The only time that the "hives" don't appear is when I take my shower fast.

Then it is something in your water.  Have it tested.

For the shower, look to the soaps and shampoo you are using.  There is a possibility you have a sensitivity to something in one of those.  For clothing, do you use Tide in the wash?  It is common that this (and other) detergent doesn't always get rinsed out and a lot of people have reactions to it in the clothes.  Change detergents or do a second rinse cycle to make sure all the detergent is out of the clothing. good luck.

I read your posts.  My husband used to do that.  Even broke out at the beach in salt water.  He would get big whelps, red, itch.  It went away on its own.  Years later did it again, and went away again.  We never did figure it out.
