Allergies and Pregnancy

by HallieH, Jul 30, 2006 12:00AM
I Have Cholinergic Urticaria, an allergy to heat basically. I am taking hydroxizine for it. I need to know if this drug can keep me from getting pregnant or cause problems during pregnancy. I also need to know what problems the allergy itself can cause before or during pregnancy.

I am also trying to conceive and have chronic hives. I take claritin daily and will continue to do so throughout a pregnancy. Doctor says it will be okay. I also here that the drug with the z as a first letter (I forget what it is called) can be helpful and you might check with your doctor and see if it would be okay to use. Good luck.

I suffer from chronic hives, and have been trying to concieve.

I was on aerius and hydroxyzine. However both are not safe in pregnancy. Piriton is safe for use in pregnancy.
