Traveling to a Foreign country

I am traveling to Egypt at the end of september.I have read several articles that say that Egypt is not the cleanest country in the world.Some told me that before,during and after my trip i should take what it's called inmune system booster, or some form of vitamin and minerals that would help my body fight off illness and diseases.Are this boosters a good idea? May i buy them over-the-counter? Please advice..Thanks!
