Orange snot

I have had a head cold for the past month or so and I blew my nose the other night and my mucus was orange. I thought maybe it was blood, but it didn't have any red tints in it. I showed it to my roommate and she said the same thing. Is my nose just dry and the blood is very diluted by clear mucus? Thank you for taking the time to read this.
