It sounds like an allergy (or intolerance). I know I had a friend who used to get these "dents" in her tongue when she ate tomatoes.
That there are numerous, secreting salivary glands in the palette that protect from injury and lubricate the mouth.

No pain or swelling was involved, so am thinking the dentist is correct.
Makes you want to run right out and try it...huh...NOT. lol
I think I can tolerate the lemon, only because after tonsil removal, my taste buds never quite went back to normal.
