Acidic fluid falls in throught and causes bad cough

I have a bad cough all time while i am waking, its starts while i wake up with short breaths sometime, and some time an acidic salty fluid fall in throat and make throat like it has inguries. I also have alergy from 'Road dust', 'chilli', 'coriander', 'choclate' etc..... i just am so worried about this bad cough all time while i am waking... while i am sleeping then i don't have any problem... please help me if anyone can...Tanweer

I am new to this site, and your question caught my interest because I have had the same problem. YOur cough can possibly be a result of acid reflux that has irritated your larynx and makes you cough during the day, but not at night when you are lying down and your throat and larynx are relaxed. I had this happen to me and I eventually had a larynoscopy (tube down the throat) that confirmed that my larynx was inflamed. After a few months on Nexium, it got better, but never went away. You also have to watch what you eat and try not to go to bed with a full stomach. I hope this helps you.
