Need DRY skin remedy's? I'm sensitive to almost everything

I have incredibly dry skin, getting worse, I have MCS & MANY allergies to most ingredients found in most lotions & cremes. Does anyone have suggestions of something that actually works for you (topical) & doesn't contain things like fragrances, parabens, alcohol, propelyne, etc. I have been using straight (organic) oils such as castor & olive oils. They only help minimally & temporarily. Eczema cremes contain lots of ingredients I can't use. (I've tried the "special" health-food-store's, allergy-free, fragrance-free miracle potions... I either have an allergic reaction or they don't work... feels like I'm rubbing water into sand paper. I'm looking for any wives-tales.... grandma's unusual tricks...... old home remedy's? Anything? Thanks you!

Hey MP pal ! I use Burt's Bees Beeswax mosturizer and also "Dry Olive Oil mist" from the Body Shop.

I am very sensitive as well. I use Arbonne's skin care products and they are wonderful. They contain no chemical fragrances or dye. I think there may be parabens, however. I would imagine it is very difficult to find anything without parabens (in terms of moisturizers b/c it is a preservative). I am able to purchase these at wholesale cost, if you are interesed in learning more about the products, email me and we can chat!

I have the same problem, but I use something most people don't even know exists. It's emu oil. Not only is it amazing for dry skin, but it also has anti-inflammatory properties that help as well. I know it can be difficult to locate though. I found my stash of it as a Vitamin Shoppe and I have seen it in a few places on the Internet, just be careful it's pure high grade oil and not some low percentage mix. I tried one of those mixes and it was in no way the same as the real oil.

are you allergic to baby oil? I hear if you use a little (on your washcloth or loofah) in the shower, at the end..(also don't take a very hot shower, and pat your skin dry when toweling off - that the baby oil helps lock in the moisture on your skin...

I have to disagree with Deeds. Baby oil is one of the worse things to put on your skin. It forms a total barrier and prevents your skin from breathing, as does any mineral-oil or petroleum-based product. Try the experiment that we Arbonne consultants use as a demonstration of this. Cover a dry cracker in a baby oil (maybe an inch or so) in a cup. Let it sit there for as long as you like ... at least an hour. You'd imagine the cracker would be soggy, right? Guess again. Completely dry inside. jenny2 offered to chat offline about Arbonne products and I'll make the same offer. I'm in the Boston area, so especially for anyone in this area that I could meet with in person, give me a shout. Otherwise, drop a note online; I can always help you long distance or help you find a local consultant. Seriously, Arbonne products are terrific for problem skin, especially for people with sensitivities. Two of our specialty products that have been known to work very well with conditions like exczema are the "Rejuvenating Cream" and the "Skin Conditioning Oil". Those would be two to look into.
